Marvin Harrison investigated for shooting outside his own bar in Philly
    Marvin Harrison?

Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison is under investigation in his hometown of Philadelphia in a shooting that took place earlier this week, a source close to the investigation told Anthony Gargano of Philadelphia's WIP Radio.

The shooting reportedly occurred early Tuesday afternoon outside a North Philadelphia bar owned by Harrison.

Harrison has yet to be arrested or charged with the crime.

"I just walked off the practice field [at rookie minicamp] and heard about the incident, and that's all I know," Colts coach Tony Dungy said Friday. "We're obviously going to look into it. I haven't spoken to Marvin yet."

Calls by ESPN to Harrison and his agent have not been returned. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league was "aware of the report, and we are looking into it."

The source said the alleged victim came into the bar, Playmakers, around 5 p.m. and engaged in an argument with Harrison, who was at the bar. The victim then left the bar, heading to his car, with Harrison following. Gunfire broke out, the victim was hit in the hand, and a young girl was slightly injured by flying glass from a car that apparently was hit by a bullet.

Police came to scene, but the victim did not identify a shooter. On Wednesday, according to the source, ballistic tests showed that the gun that had fired the shots was a custom-made Belgian weapon, and police determined that Harrison owned such a gun.

Police then went to a Philadelphia car wash owned by Harrison to question him about the gun. Harrison admitted owning such a weapon, but claimed it never left his suburban Philadelphia home.

However, the source said the gun was discovered in a bucket at the car wash, and tests showed that it had fired seven bullets that matched those found at the scene.

The source said police were contacted Friday by an attorney representing a second alleged victim in the shooting, and police are now waiting for that individual to come forward.

Let this be a lesson to all the kids out there - If you're going to shoot someone, do so with a gun that can't be as easily traced back as a customized Belgian weapon.

Like he did last year? Harrison was basically out all season last year. Wayne was decent, but it was clear that Indy's #1 weapon was not on the field. Maybe Wayne can step it up, but IMHO he's got to step up to be a true #1 weapon in Peyton's offense. I actually like Gonzalez to step up and accept that challenge. Reggie is too comfortable in being a backup singer in this band.

As for Marvin. I can only hope that he's being framed or set up. The evidence doesn't look good so far.

Dumb ass rich athletes that own bars!

You think someone with a pea brain in his family would have convinced him that there is absolutely nothing to gain for a famous and well off athlete to own a bar these days. The risk factor is astronomical and the reward factor is far below zero. How stupid are these guys??????It's an absolute joke when people urge these athletes that are brainless to get into business when they are already rich. The only thing a jock or ex jock should get involved with is coaching or being a color commentator.

So many jocks and ex jocks have owned bars where the same sorts of things have taken place. You think these people would learn?????????Owning a bar for even an average person that is trying to make a living is the worst business to be in these days. It's a complete liability and an accident waiting to happen.

I hope he puts up lower numbers. It will mean that everyone else has picked up the slack. Last year, Wayne was Peyton's main option that had much experience and stayed healthy. Hopefully this year, Gonzales will continue to improve and pull his weight, the running game needs to rachet it up a notch, TE production needs to improve as well as the slot, Clark needs to stay healthy, etc. There's a lot of improvement to be done on the offense, and I'm not counting on Wayne to do it, it's everyone else that needs to step up, Wayne needs to just keep doing what he's doing and focus on being more clutch like Marvin was. Marvin's numbers were fine, but his true value is making the 3rd down conversion when it mattered. Wayne has yet to show this capacity to the degree that Marvin could.
