I can see in hockey why home rink is an adavantage because of last line change matchup priority to the home team and face off circle advantages where the visiting center has to have his stick touching the ice but why in the NBA is there such a swing in odds and who wins due to home court advantage?Look at the odds for the NBA playoffs how heavy favorites that just whooped someone at home turn to dogs on the road.
So what's the big deal about taking a 2 hour plane ride, maybe being in one time zone over and staying in a luxury hotel compared to being home? You hear players harp on this being a burden all the time. The whole thing about not being happy, not being comfortable and not expecting to do as well on the road in the NBA is a self fulfilling prophecy if you ask me.Crowd noise isn't that big of a deal and jerks in the stands trash talking shouldn't upset you.The court can't be much different than your home court.
Anyone remember Rodman when he was almost crying because he had to stay in Salt Lake City for a few days when he had a playoff series there a few years back?On the day between games he chartered a plane to Vegas becuse there were no night clubs in strict Salt Lake City.
