No reason for either of those teams to make that trade. Tony Parker is not the missing piece for a title run, or even to make the playoffs. They could do much better than that.
I tend to agree...although most have him @7, although if he's around at 6 and my wizards don't create the most potentially devastating backcourt in the NBA in 3 years and draft Kawhi "Jared Jeffries version0.9" Leonard, I'll flip a shit/shit on flip..and GRUNFELD MUST GO.
I really think the only team that would see any meaningful change in results from Parker next year would be the Lakers. He could help some other teams, but not in any major way, his 29 is really like 32/33, and his defense is porous at times.
I'm very surprised that they are shopping Parker...this core can still win another championship!
Absolutely no way no how. I'm sorry. The strength of this team now is depth, and you need someone that can TAKE OVER games to win a title. That guy isn't TP, Duncan is a shell of himself, and you can only count on Manu for 40 games. As constructed they won't be a team that can sit their older guys to save em up for the playoffs and still seed in the top 4 within a year or two
It might work in this draft since there isnt anyone worth drafting in the first place, but in terms of getting a realistic draft pick in a draft with decent talent in it, no frigging way.
i think this is direct retribution for focking around with a team mates wife. Popovich teams are TEAMS, and its hard to be a team mate to a guy you can trust. I think its a class move by the spurs.
