Put economic crash words to the song Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. Please bail now!
I always knew deep in my heart that we would have a total economic collapse in my lifetime and there were times I jumped the gun and thought it was coming but I'm absolutely convinced now that we are in the beginning stages of a total crash!Does anyone else think this way?

Nothing is heading in the right direction.Oil hits record today.

Obama will win the election bringing us total socialism and not just socialism lite. The economy is so softened up from decades of mismanagement that Obama is just the right guy to give it the knockout punch.

Housing, mortgage and banking crisis will worsen.

PEOPLE can't pay for utilities and upcoming heating season fuel.

Wars in the middle east will not end in our lifetimes and the massive spending on these wars will escalate.

Iowa is expecting 2 more inches of rain tomorrow.Commodities going through the roof.Food prices are getting scary.

The dollar will never rebound. The federal reserve is caught in a box canyon where if they raise interest rates, economic activity slows even further. If they lower rates, inflation soars. We will have stagflation no matter what.

Health insurance costs are through the roof.No politician will come to the conclusion that we have had 65 years of the nanny state and people have become hypochondriacs hooked on medical attention and pills they don't need.

So,can anyone please tell me why we should be optimistic that things will get better?

Stock market is overpriced and will and is crashing.Dow 4K with worthless dollars will be like Dow 1400 in late 80's dollars.

So,if you are some of the lucky few that are independently wealthy, aren't you getting nervous where you think now is the time to figure a plan B or some kind of a mindset and lifestyle change to protect yourself?I mean protect yourself from even crime that will affect even the rich. It's going to be a regular survival of the fittest horror show with people becoming animal like.

How does the end of that Gordon Lightfoot song go?Fellas it's been good to know you as the ship was sinking.

I know Costa Rica has socialized medicine but how is the country managed otherwise?Everyone keeps saying that Costa Rica is a good place to move.I hear that all the politicians, bankers and entertainers-athletes have bail out plans to move there.

You mean something like this, Brent...

    My apologies to Gordon Lightfoot…

The troubles arose back in two thousand one
In a city that sits near the Potomac
With Dubya sworn in all hell would break loose
From Afghanistan way over to Iraq.

With a load of bullsh¡t and his buddy Karl Rove
The machine was in place to go crazy
A good country gone bad by man who was mad
When the polls of November are shady.

Concluding some terms with a couple oil firms
They defended their profits with soldiers
And blood from the courage of other men’s sons
Boys destined to never grow older.

Son of Silver Spoon spoke tough on the TV
“I’m comin’ fer ya’ Saddam and Iran, you too”
Later he added that loony Korean
And he labeled them the Axis of Doo Doo

Meanwhile on the home front there was Enron,
I’ll always think Ken Lay got off easy
Whenever I think of the money they stole
Well my big gut can turn quickly queasy

The jobs all dried up or were shipped over East
And the media just kept right on rolling
And every man knew that it was all just due
To a November election that was stolen

The midterms in two thousand-six brought the Dems
Full of promise and hope and more bullsh¡t
But nothing much changes when all that you got
Is a Congress chock full of real dimwits.

Now the elephants say that their man is McCain
And the donkeys are going with Barack
And neither man knows, or least has not said
How he’ll bring our boys home from Iraq

While gas prices soar and our homes are foreclosed
We look back and try to remember
A time back before the Bush Era roared
    Back before two thousand November.
