i personally like watching the games on TV, over watching them live in person.

you can see the replays, and don't have to pay 7 bucks for a beer.

which way do you prefer watching a sporting event ?

Once upon a time I would go to about 40 Blue Jays game every year. I was free to watch them on TV but I loved live sports.

I am at the point now where someone would have to pay me by the hour to go watch a sports event live. I don't have the time or the interest. I'm a bettor not a fan. When it comes to sports, I need to be able to channel flip.

But if I look at this question from the point of view of, okay but suppose you actually did have a sports event you really wanted to see from start to finish. Like suppose Canada had an Olympic Gold Medal hockey game and I was offered tickets.

I think I would still lean towards watching on TV. There is the replay factor for sure. Plus my little viewing set-up here is just so comfortable.

(Also I wouldn't want too many people to see me cry when we won.)

I like watching games live, but they end up costing you profits, because it takes a big chunk of time away from capping games and monitoring the current day action.

TV by a mile. You just see more by looking from the best angle, always.

The best seat to watch a game is in front of the TV....

I remember going to watch a Packers game this year in Lambeua field and even though it was nice to be there in person it was one of the most uncomfortable expereinces ever. I'll go to Brewer games b/c you can typically buy a ticket for a few dollars and sit wherever you want so that is a good deal....but I am not going to go when i have to pay $40 a ticket and such.

Like other have said, it can cost an arm an leg for ticets, parking, a trip to the concession stand, merchandise, gas to drive down to the stadium.....

It's just not worth it in my opinion

With the new 1080P HD TV's, the home experience will be even more enhanced.

I like watching at home. Ive been to a couple NFL games, and it wont hurt my feelings if I never go to one again. The concessions are over priced, and you dont have to drive home drunk if your at home already.

Plus the fact you can switch to a different game if you lose interest in the one you first started watching. Cant exactly hop to another stadium right away if your at the game.

                  1) Sleep through the game and wake up richer. Nice alternative: go to the movies.
                  2) Be everywhere with tv + live internet stats. The more games with action, the better.
                  3) Be at a game, but not for the betting; just for the experience.

The only sport I would prefer seeing is baseball. All other sports I would rather sit in front of my tv.

hockey live. no other way to watch the sport. same goes with horseracing. baseball can go either way but its nice to get to a game now and then. basketball and particularly football is best viewed on tv.

Agreed, Zther, when it comes to hockey. Just can't get into that game at all on TV.

Would also add auto racing, though replays of crashes are cool.
