A mistress is a woman a guy fukks on the side if he is married. The mistress knows that the man is married, but fukks him anyway in return for being taken care of financially

If this were a transaction between level-headed males, it would be true.

Unfortunately the transaction involves a female which will demand more and more in terms of both money and relationship status. Eventually the mistress forces the male to choose between wife and her. When he chooses wife, the mistress is bitter and carries out acts of revenge against the male.

Conversely, the husband may choose the mistress over the wife, in which case the mistress will lose interest, leaving the man divorced, broke, and alone.
