My parents had a sulphur-crested cockatoo, it was such a fukkin noisemaker. It was like this one:
A serious warning to all prospective bird buyers. The sulphur-crested cockatoo is a beautiful bird, very intelligent and affectionate.....but the noise it makes is unreal. Before buying it at the pet store, my parents would visit it often when picking up dog food. What the pet store employees neglected to tell them was that when nobody was around the bird giving it attention, it was incredibly noisy. My mother later spoke to her hairdresser in the same strip mall about it and she told her everyone in the buiding was glad to see the bird gone. The noise drove them crazy. The bird emitted a powder that my mother was allergic to so they ended up having to get rid of it but that wasn't before several years of this noisy bird in the house.
people who have birds have a higher chance to get lung cancer . I don't know why, but it was a story about 5 years ago good luck bird lovers, yea and that loud noise, I would shoot it with that noise.
LT do you own a musket? do you do those reinactments? he could definitely do a a pretty good Ben Franklin too.
LT, did you shoot your Parrot with a musket yet?
geez... what a critic you are. I can see why you got banned. The guy has a respectful kid, he has a parrot (show's great tolerance--I have a sun conure and understand). Who are you to judge the way someone looks, guy? Let's see your picture, bigman. I thought you were a cool poster but now I think the opposite.
LT, you had some good picks there, my apologies for making this thread about the bird. Your screeching parrot reminded me of a bird that was part of the family for many years. Smart little feathered guy he was. We gave him some keys to play with, he would try to open the lock on the cage with them because he obviously saw us opening his cage to bring him out or getting him food. We gave him the real key and sure enough he unlocked it.
Had to return again to listen to Stevie Nicks while watchin' the dancin' bird.
Shari, Coochy and other Aussies: I know the sulphur-crested cockatoo is a native Australian bird but do you see them flying around the city, perched on trees and rooting through garbage like I would crows over here (large wild bird comparison ..).........
