Its one thing to wear the opposing teams jersey inside the sports complex where there is security and you are safe for the most part, but to wear a rangers jersey down to 9th street by pats after they just beat the flyers is pure suicide with a bunch of angry drunks out there going to eat. Not justifying his beating but it was a dumbfukk thing to do, he was just asking for trouble. Its a sign of disrespect quite frankly.

Also, don't make it seem like this is unique to Philly alone.

I went to a Yankees/Red Sox game in the Bronx and two Sox fans came out of the train and were quickly surrounded by a mob of Yankees fans who started chanting Red Sox Suck for 5 minutes before they let them leave.

Wearing another teams colors could get you in trouble anywhere and you should be aware of that.

I am one of the sharpest guys here and this was posted on twitter regarding a "major announcement." From there, it hit the internet via message boards, then radio, then back to the internet.

They will never announce a Pronger retirement. As a player that signed an "over 35" contract they will not get cap relief if he retires. As long as he says he is trying to return at some point, they can keep him on the long term injury list. they had the same issue with Ian Lapperriere.
