    Jared Weaver threw a no-hitter on 5/2.

He won his next game on 5/7 fairly convincingly (granted, it was against the Twins).

Just goes to show there are no locks in sports betting.

As for Humber, he also had to deal with his wife giving birth shortly after his no-hitter. The two events created, IMO, a much higher stress level which manifested in a poor showing his next several games.

I still like the idea of fading Cain but will need to look into other things. Good thing this is a late game, so I have time to research.

      Final note on this game:

San Francisco Giants are 1-4 in Matt Cain's career when he starts on the road immediately following a complete-game performance at home

Underrated....You're kidding right? The whole world and certainly all the betting sharps have known about Cain for the past few years now. He's never been underrated hence why he gets much respect on the betting line when pitching at home. The only reason why that line is a pickem today is because he pitched a no-no and he's going against a good hitting Angels lineup on the road.

No "underrated" pitcher will ever receive a $140 million contract, period.

Cain is a better pitcher than Humber. No disagreement there.

However, for this particular angle (i.e. how a pitcher does on the game following a no hitter), the comparison merits discussion. Same with Weaver (which is why I mentioned him as well).
