Regarding the black catchers thing- there were quite a few back in the 60's and 70's, Elston Howard, John Roseboro, Earl Battey, Elrod Hendricks and Hal King come to mind. There have been very few for the past 40 years though. I wonder why.
How come there aren't any left-handed throwing catchers in baseball?
