Hey Harry Potter fans - Will he die or not?
So is Harry Potter going to die in this novel or not?

Not sure how many of you out there read or buy these books for your kids, but I figured I would post this because there are odds up on it. Maybe someone has some info on the book.

POTTER FANS ARE BETTING ON WHETHER IT’S HARRY’S LAST CHAPTER

Harry Potter has become much more than a boy wizard – he has become a king of pop culture. Age, sex, religion and language have no importance when it comes to the Potter Empire, and fans are placing their bets now on whether their beloved Harry will be destined for death in the final novel.

Before, during and after each movie/book release Pottermania ignites, and ever since JK Rowling stated that the final chapter of the saga contains the deaths of more than one major character, rumors among fans are that Potter himself may be on the author’s chopping block. In turn, analysts at BetCRIS Sportsbook have made predictions on whether or not Harry Potter will meet his demise in the seventh novel and how many copies will be sold in the US the first 24 hours of the book’s release.
WILL HARRY POTTER DIE IN THE 7TH NOVEL?
    • YES / 1 to 1.05
    • NO / 1 to 1.25

HOW MANY COPIES WILL BE SOLD IN THE U.S.A DURING THE FIRST 24 HOURS OF THE RELEASE OF HARRY POTTER’S BOOK NUMBER 7?
    • LESS THEN 7.0 MILLION COPIES / 3 to 1
    • 7.0 TO 8.0 MILLION COPIES / 2.5 to 1
    • 8.0 TO 9.0 MILLION COPIES / 3.5 to 1
    • 9.0 TO 10.0 MILLION COPIES / 5 to 1
    • MORE THEN 10.0 MILLION COPIES / 6.5 to 1

“Harry Potter has become a widespread cultural phenomenon, and I anticipate many hearts shattering if Harry Potter is in fact one of the two characters that die,” said Mickey Richardson, CEO of BetCRIS.com. “I’m confident that the build up of who’s the next to go is enough to sell more books this time around then any of the prior six.”

I don't think she will kill him off. I bet his two friends die.

In an interview Rowlings said that two characters die that she didn't intend to die. I doubt though that one would be Harry Potter. That 'no' bet seems solid.

I have absolutely no special knowledge about this but I have to say NO F___ING WAY Harry Potter dies. There are business reasons (gee, just a few dollars at stake, wouldn't you say?) and moral reasons (hard to see Rowling purposely devastating a few hundred million kids).

Isn't dying and coming back to life in the next episode a requirement for a wizard? I'll say the kid gets it for the max.

You know what? I didn't think it through as carefully as that. Sharp post.

I still lean towards these rumour being a marketing ploy but I feel much less sure now.

Very good point Bill. You maybe right on here. I will now know why that line moves if it does.

Super sharp post, but it seems they only bring the evil wizards back to life. In the last movie Harry was told his parents couldn't come back. With that being said, I have no fvcking clue because now I am confused.
