How to make a team

• Rank in the top 12 for points won during SBR Poker tournament play Mon-Fri from January 18 — April 20.
• Twelve slots will be assigned for each region. Leaderboards will be posted with standings by country. Confederates refers to 12 US members who do not qualify for Team US.

Team Match Schedule (April 25 — April 28)

• Twelve tournaments per day from 12:00PM-11:00PM ET.
• Four players per tournament (1 player from each region).

Scoring details

• Each tournament will award 2 points for the winning team, and 1 point for the runner-ups team. Co-champions will be crowned in the event of a tie with an equal division of the pot. A leaderboard will be maintained in Players Talk showing how many points each team has.

Prize-pool
Winning team: 10,000 betpoints each
Runner-up: 5,000 poker pts each
3rd place: 2,000 poker pts each
4th place: 750 poker pts each

Fine-print

1. Must be an SBR Pro to represent a team.
2. Users banned during the qualification period may lose their right to make a team at SBR's discretion.
3. One entry per household.
4. Tiebreaker will be SBRforum join date during qualification period. If contestants joined the same day, # of cashes will be used. If # of cashes is tied, # of points won will be used.
5. It will be the responsibility of each team to decide which player will represent them per tourney. Players may compete in only one tournament per day. Players may not share the password with players that have not qualified under any circumstance - no points will be counted for that region. Events will be PW protected & player usernames altered to include region.

Increased prize pools may draw larger crowds than a chance to play for cheap. I mean free rolls are available on every poker site out there but SBR is different...right?

Also disappointed in the fact that no outside inputs were taken into consideration. I think downsouth and others had some good ideas. Nothing against Team Canada, but it seems unfair to only need ~300 points to qualify.

Instead of the world concept, I'd have rather seen the top 48 players qualify, and had your four teams chosen from that. Doesn't seem fair that the #1 seeded American gets the same privilege as the #243rd ranked player from Estonia. I mean, do guys from Estonia even lift?

At the ~3300 point rate = $100, I would have prefer to have seen a WSOP qualifier. The prize pool here is around $6500 so maybe 4 $1500 seats. One for the top point man for the promo and 3 from a final tourney. Maybe the top point guy and the winner of the tourney would get $500 for expenses. Think that would have been more fun than another World Cup (which used to be the 2nd promo of the year).

This event sucks and so do the schedule times. Many have asked for return of morning tourney which was by far the hardest.

Interesting, since this is the exact same broken structure as last year. Are there even 12 Canadians that play?
They get to loollygag into the finals while the US players will have a dog fight to get top 24? It's not right.
