I noticed alot people go allin with AK pre-flop. Regardless of the blinds or position. Especially in freerolls and in small buyins. What is so great about this hand? I prefer 77 or 88 over AK any day.

the key with your statement is that this was in freerolls and small buyins. alot of people love the hand ak online but it is still a very strong hand and is considered the 4th best hand in poker behind aa, kk, and qq. it is in a coinflip against 77 or 88 but i would personally take ak tho i lose those coinflips either way no matter which end im onComment -
If you hit the flop with "ak" you have top pair/top kicker. If no one pairs the flop you have highest high cards. If you "all in" preflop you get to play see all five cards; BUT don't hit the flop and a pair of two's will win.Comment
