This one is for Joe Cool. No more whining
I've been down to the final 15 or so (when I've played, missed the first week and a couple since). I got through once for a mini cash and even got donked for that 80 or whatever. Was on a path to at least 2nd vs Emp

I was mid game, and blanco sits next to me. We are co chip leaders. I faulter, come back, take the lead, he takes a huge lead, faulters a smidge but we are set for the final.

Playing very carefully. I can fold to the mini cash. The only hand that would convince me otherwise (yes if it was real money I understand ICM all that, it's sbr poker).

Watch the flop then respond, you don't need to read the rest.

As good as Blanco is, I'm a little surprised by the move. I get it, 7 guys left. I had mini raised or raised his blind maybe 3 times total in an hour. Jammed I think twice. He had chips to spare but it was half his stack. Maybe good on the East team charts?

I know you have game bro so this isn't shit talking, more "Joe I have windows folders full of these hands, just though it was particulary brutal and that "it happens"

    I'll make the final 12, never haven't.

Probably a no penetrates it's sbr who cares move as we all do lol.

As far as the strategy, it's either a ridiculously +EV shove or youre suggesting your minraise range there is laughably tiny (which I don't believe is the case... I have notes). It's extremely hard for you to call unless you have the top of your range. It's also a great hand to do it with, A removal, suited, still decent equity against the other big pairs

Also putting it into perspective, I'm shoving like 11 BBs, blind vs blind. I'd do the same if you limped, the fact that you made it 2BB doesn't change much since you're not one of the people who only does that with big hands. Just means there's more for me to win when you fold

LOL Tough luck Chaos! I got beat with AA about 6 times during the last qualifier.

Lost with KK time before tonight, and got my three 9's river donked tonight by a last card straight maker.

Just remember chaos, try to laugh at the wild donks on here. Yes it "stings" for about 2 minutes, then it is over!

Also always remember, they don't say "just get it in with the worst" for no reason!

It isn't "good poker" that wins these quick tourneys, it is who gets the most luck!

And I haven't had any luck (or cashes) since the first week!

All we can do is keep plugging and hope we finally get some luck.

I think I would have played that one the same way, shove on you, expecting a fold but not minding either way as it gives me a shot to take you out as well as just win the hand.

Yeah I think about 80% of us either go all in or call an all in with Ace - 8 (The old "because it was suited! LOL)

Then, if we are holding AA against it, and we see the flop has given the other guy 4 to a flush,

then about 99% of us know another club is coming to donk out the hole AA! LOL If I had AA and I saw

that 4 to a flush was up there with 2 more cards to come, I'd just turn my computer off! LOL

Well with the 900 in blinds, my 1200 and 5245 behind, you'd need (7345/5245) about 42 percent to call on the hand alone. But yes, even 88 and above with the A I guess basically the only hand crushing you 9/1 is AA.

Gotcha. I guess I was more focused on THAT particular game and how I had played. I had a big lead, took a huge hit, battled back and was in no mood to tangle with you on my left, as I had already had to of been careful the entire time. So on the absolute bubble, with 2nd/3rd in chips, I figured my mini raise was good enough to make that statement, but I see with fold equity and your potential over A how you felt a gamble.

Frankly, my "would of could of " 6 or more cashes/potential wins the last few weeks could have been if I had just sat on the chips. In a real tourney one from the money, I'm never clashing with the chip leader even with AA unless a flop with with trips no flush draw, and no straight draw. Probably still bad ICM.

I just figured THIS time it would actually work out, once the two clubs hit I started to grab the dog leash for our nightly walk and Podcast listen. Need to get ready for my Fantasy drafts.

See ya in the big cup. I have taken a rash of these the last few weeks so I figured I'd wake up the poker forum with a fun one. This was particulary brutal. I'm glad you didn't throw them away like chipup would or some other ass.

Yeah as he said with the anything other than AA 88+, he probably had the odds with fold equity. I mentioned the table dynamics of having a big lead, losing it, battling back to 2nd and 3rd, so mini raising the chip leader on the bubble with him on my left is pretty stupid..

Unless I had a big hand. Unfortunately for me I could basically fold anything but AA.

Correct ICM though was to not play the hand at all and get in the final 6, but we have tons of time and I'll make the team.

In any real money tournament worth a damn I'm not even clashing or at worst seeing a flop, but I couldn't fold that flop either. This one is brutal, if I hadn't taken so many the last two weeks I wouldn't even of posted it but I thought it was a fun one.

Well that's where it actually gets interesting. If you really were only min-raising an extremely tight range in this specific scenario, then my shove could be bad. That's just not the read I had or what I expected from you, but if it's something specific to the bubble it's hard to get that narrow read. My thinking was you had a lot of hands that you'd minraise-fold because you had room to do so, and I know that's a thing you do sometimes. And I definitely don't just auto-shove in that spot. I fold the bad hands, so most of your minraises are good

The other thing I'd say is, BvB, you minraise, I have A8s. For me to fold is obviously ridiculous. That's letting you get away with murder. So the only other option is to just call. I don't love that with these stacks. I'm going to miss most of the time. You c-bet on all those flops I miss, then what? Odds might even say my A high is usually good, but I have no good way to play the hand because you're in control and can bet again on the turn

I want to reiterate this was such a rough beat on the bubble for you and I genuinely felt bad! Just explaining where I was coming from with the shove <3

tough loss OP. I guess it depends on what type of notes somebody is taking. if you have min raised (or raised), 3 times in an hour, what is that 3 out of 20, assuming 80 total hands (he is BB one fourth of the time), but then again, a lot of times you did not have that chance to raise (somebody else raised). he is getting 7 to 5. whether its a big tourny or SBR, I think it is hard to let his hand go.
