BetOnline Poker no more $15, $30 & $60 Hyper SNGs?
First they remove the $100 & $200 buyins a couple years ago to have a max $60 buyin. Now the Hyper PKOs disappear for the $15, $30 and $60 levels.

Poker department doesn't answer emails to say whats going on... seems very strange. They already had a very limited offering and were getting decent action...

Hypers are typically going to be the game type with the most bots. Too easy to play perfectly with short stacks.

I'm sure they will put them back. They probably just took them down for a short period of time.

Sorry, meant to write Hyper PKOs*. Regular Hypers are still up. Typo on my part.

Yeah nothing to do with bots. I play in the games, theres not a bot issue.

I am glad you're sure they will put them back. It would've been nice if the $100s and $200s came back a couple years ago when they have mysteriously disappeared. There seems to be no rhyme or reason for anything in the Sit N Go offerings on BOL.

Well if you happened to sharkscope some of the guys in the $100s and $200s when they offered them they were losing too quickly. When sports/casino players dump their money in poker it's actually bad for the site. I'm sure they have lots of data to work with that we don't which is why they decided to kill the bigger buy ins.

I'm sure they do too. None of these decisions seem data driven. Even if they are they are horrible decisions. Even past that point the fact that they cannot even respond to inquiries and have made other horrendous decisions makes me have little to no faith in them having any idea what they are doing. Just for example, the fact that their highest buy-in PLO8 SNG is $7. They had a frequent players points program that they offer like a penny on 1000 for, then offered nothing for, then some random MTTs you could play to get small amounts with them, to eventually deleting them and giving players nothing for them. The poker client doesn't even recognize chops when 2nd and 3rd place tie for the 2nd place prize.

From the outside knowing nothing about the site I would be giving them as much credit as you are, probably. I have played professionally for 20 years and played SNGs on all of the sites through that time period. I understand all the angles, most importantly keeping $ on the site and having players lose it slowly rather than have players immediately bust. Anyone who was on Pokerstars to see them move their payout pool from the top 10% down to 15% down further, and saw their rationale gets this. The decision to remove $100s and $200s took so much action off the site that there's no way that if it was a data driven decision that they wouldn't have simply re-added those back to it. There was certainly wayyy more $ circulating. I have the numbers..

Pretty sure that is not why BOL has gotten rid of Hyper PKOs, and pretty sure all of the other issues are in line with a site that is pretty clueless. With all due respect to you being sure that they got rid of the bigger buyins because "they have data to work with that we don't", you can be sure of it all you want but it doesn't make it true. In theory it would work great, but you have to recognize the fact that they also might just not know what they are doing at all and making bad decisions even with that rationale. You were also pretty sure that they would be adding Hypers back, and that they are most likely gone because they are the easiest for bots. That is pretty simple thinking TBH. Never heard of that being a thing. Not only is it not easy for bots to play perfectly with short stack SNGs, but a site wouldn't just remove them and put them back for that reason. If there is a bot issue you attack the bot issue.. While 6 handed short stack hyper SNGs might be solved, it is by no means "easy" to have a bot that will play perfectly. I play a ton of them and I am fairly certain over the past years playing on BOL that I haven't ran into a single decently playing bot let alone one that came remotely close to playing perfectly. None that existed for more than a few days anyhow.

I know its fun to play devils advocate but, I would love to actually get an answer from them for any of these things and why they are still this way...

So why don't you go to their sponsored forum where they answer all these questions with dedicated representatives from BetOnline themselves?

SBR isn't much of a poker forum, unfortunately. While I've never been a SNG player, I'd like to think I know what I'm talking about. I'm not very active on BOL and really just play MTTs on rare occasion there. I agree that many of the things they do don't make a lot of sense. They stole VIP points, they now rake cash games preflop, they constantly change their weekly rewards for all formats, etc. It's certainly not a site without issues, that's for sure.
