I just finished rereading this 15 year old book and I got some good things out of it. The book reminds me of the Knish quote from rounders "showing you the playbook I put together off my own beats." Greenstein basically wrote a manual for how to approach life as a gambler and how to avoid certain pitfalls of the lifestyle.
Different chapters will be more applicable to different people. His advice to take one-off shots at juicy situations even if you aren't bankrolled for them long-term is a lesson I wish I had learned back when the book was written. I recommend Ace on the River for anyone who is looking to gamble professionally or as a serious side-hustle. You can get it used on amazon for under $3.
