I have a land line and a flip phone. I don't even know how to take a photo with the flip phone (it's there) but that tells you how ignorant I am.
Both my laptop computers and my desktop computer, have a mouse, so I'm really a dinosaur.

I know that sooner or later (probably sooner), I am going to be "squeezed out" with no smart phone.

I think they are all pretty easy to use.

I like Android myself.... so go with a Samsung Galaxy Phone. Currently the S8's were just released a few months back.

Probably could pick up an S7 or S6 on ebay for pretty cheap.

Thanks; I found a website that list the easiest for a senior.

I've had a few associates of mine who had the Galaxy Note series... they weren't too happy about it. Just giving you heads up.

It may have been too simple for their sophistication... or their type of use. About a year ago, I stopped by a Verizon office and they said they offered classes at certain locations to learn how to use one.... I have verizon phone currently and that scared the "bejesus" outta me...

Just buy a new iphone4 or samsung galaxy 4. You can get either for $100 new. Then after you get used to, decide if you want the newest version of either for $800.
After those 2 phones, nothing has really changed.

I don't know about the $100 price correct, but it's a consensus on the i phone. I asked 3 different computer places that repair computers and do NOT sell any type of smart phone. All 3 said the iphone would be the easiest!

Don't feel bad about the mouse. I plugged in an old mouse to my laptop a few weeks ago because my touchpad was being an asshole. Wondering why I didn't do it sooner.

                      Sometimes older is better.

Personally, I don't see the satisfaction or fascination that so many have with a smart phone.. I walk through a big mall and 50% or more of the people or walking along like zombies with their face or fingers on the phone pad (face) or whatever the term.

I love the internet, but to be on all those social media places every 10 seconds to see who likes and all that jazz, just doesn't get it for me.
But what is good about it is having it to take a picture of a check that I leave on the landlord's desk or pictures for some type of proof of other things. Plus getting the "APP" or whatever it's called to be able to scan receipts to present to a cashier at Walmart for the savings catcher, rather than typing out each 16 digit number and waiting to accumulate the dollars and then print out a form.... It's not that I like or find it fun..I don't do social media; but it's getting to be the world we live in is going to require a smart phone to be able to get bye..It's really a sad state of affairs, but the phone companies and big business have made it harder to live today. Plus, since the bank doesn't process my rent for bill pay in a timely fashion, I'm going to have to write a check and take a picture as I place it somewhere. It's nothing that I look forward to... My flip phone fits well in my pocket and has been all I needed for a long time, plus the home phone...Sad to me as an old timer.

That's serious dude. Can't have that at all.

Mine would usually F with me during porn sessions. Awhile back, I almost hit "like" on the pornhub Facebook button, which would have been shown to everyone because I panicked and tried to overcorrect my touchpad freaking out. Not much shame in my game, but I have aunts and friends' parents and shit on FB. Can't have that either.

If you're not going to use the features on it, there's no reason for a $600+ new model imo. Go for a model or two older for less than half the price, or a cheaper new model. I'd just ask the workers their recommendation when you go to buy one. I bought the S6 two years ago, I did a good job protecting it, and now the battery life barely gets me half way through the day and the home button doesn't work. Basically, most phones, no matter what it is, won't last much more than 2 years. It's just if you want to pay more for the special features. I'm getting a new one soon, and I've decided I'm pissing away $600+ on a phone this time.

If your battery life is 1/2 a day; are you surfing the net and going to a lot of websites, lots of emails (texts-whatever thay are called on a smartphone)? What is causing the battery to last only 1/2 a day?

Probably just being 2 years old. I'll take it to work, unplug it at 530 am, surf the net and check Twitter during shitter breaks and half hour lunch, then get home at 4 and I'm lucky if I have 50% battery. Bad thing is I can't get to the battery in this phone to change it.

iphone 4: Is this a phone Verizon would likely have available ? I feel sure that I'm available for an upgrade from my flip phone as I get Verizon email offers all the time, but haven't been paying attention to them.

There is a huge Apple Iphone store in the local mall, which has been open about a year.. Would I be better off going there to buy an Iphone and pay the price for whichever model is the least expensive or going straight to Verizon store and feel the "in store torture" that may come anyway. I have Verizon's Home phone Connect at present, which allows me a home phone with unlimited minutes and a flip phone (different number) with 200 minutes per month no internet for $59/ monthly.
