Couple things wrong with this.... but it is a lesson learned....
1. The cop should of given him a 2nd warning after he was briefed by his captain/sergeant over the radio... as to.... the upgraded charge. Clearly, the cop didn't.
2. One of my good friends is a cop and you make the city you work in more revenue.... when towing a vehicle... and upgrading charges. You wouldn't think the "towing company" is in bed with the city???? Yes, they are. So, all around... when you arrest someone... there's more revenue to be made.

Does he deserve $5k-$20k for the hassle and denial of rights? Sure, agree. What I don’t like is how juries will award this guy life changing money say 100k-1M, thus taking a police officer or two off the street and some area that would have been patrolled but now isn’t suffers a robbery, rape or murder. Overtime more crimes leads to more stereotyping and bad policing, just further enhancing the problem and repeat.
