Taxpayers Hit for $750K After Cops Attack NBA Star Sterling Brown — for Parking Incorrectly

Milwaukee, WI — In January 2018, Milwaukee Bucks guard Sterling Brown was running into a Walgreens store when he was approached by a lone police officer. That one officer then called for backup and within minutes, nearly a dozen cops had this innocent man, surrounded, assaulted, tasered, and arrested because he had incorrectly parked.

Now, because of the incompetence and brutality exhibited by these officers, the taxpayers will be shelling out $750,000 to Brown in the form of a settlement. In a rare move, the the settlement proposal also includes an admission that Brown’s constitutional rights were violated when officers took him to the ground, tasered him and arrested him. If this proposal is approved it would be the first time in Milwaukee’s history that the city ever admitted fault in a police misconduct case — despite paying out tens of millions in settlements.

According to jsonline.com, in just the last five years, police misconduct has cost Milwaukee taxpayers at least $31.6 million in legal settlements, forcing the city to borrow money to make the payouts amid an ever-tightening budget.

    Nothing to see here…..

As TFTP reported at the time, after sitting on the body camera footage for five months, the Milwaukee police department finally released it in May of 2018. It is nothing short of infuriating as it shows Brown being polite, compliant, and go along with everything the officers are saying. However, in spite of giving police total compliance, he was still surrounded like a pack of wolves out for blood, who would eventually pounce.

That night, Brown had run inside the Walgreens to make a purchase, and since the parking lot was entirely empty, he decided to park across two handicapped parking spots. This wasn’t the wisest decision and should’ve ended with a ticket. However, police thought they had landed themselves a drug dealer or someone sinister after apparently seeing a young black man in a Mercedes.

Instead of writing a ticket, the officer called his partner for backup and in just a few minutes, a half dozen cop cars had the parking lot swarming with officers.

Police claim Brown “became very aggressive,” which is why the officer called for backup. However, as the footage below shows, this was a lie.

Police then claimed that “Brown physically resisted officers’ attempts to handcuff him and he was taken to the ground in a controlled manner.”

The officer said Brown continued to “resist being handcuffed” and “a Taser had to be employed to get Brown in control with handcuffs.”

At no time during the video is Brown physically resisting officers. In fact, because he did not resist, they were unable to charge him with resisting arrest. The assault, taser, and kidnapping ended with a simple $200 parking ticket which was later thrown out.

The abuse and force used during the arrest was so over the top that an internal investigation was launched and the officers involved were disciplined. Exactly what that ‘discipline’ was remains a mystery as none of the officers were fired.

“The (Police) Department conducted an investigation into the incident which revealed members acted inappropriately. Those members were recently disciplined,” Milwaukee Police Chief Alfonso Morales said during a news conference at the time.

“I am sorry this incident escalated to this level,” he said. “When I took office, I vowed to rebuild trust between the Milwaukee Police Department and the community. We are doing that.”

Despite the apology, Brown said, “It doesn’t justify what happened.”

Below is a video showing that no matter what socioeconomic status you are in or how successful you become, you can and will be brutally and violently attacked by those “sworn to protect and serve.”

Cop Involved in Breonna Taylor Killing, Accused of ‘Violent’ On-Duty Sexual Assault

On September 23, knowing that there would be backlash for their decision, streets in downtown Louisville were blocked off, police put on high alert, and government buildings were boarded up as officials announced the charges against former officer Brett Hankison for his role in the raid which left Breonna Taylor dead.

The subsequent outrage was well deserved as Hankison was not charged for anything that led to the death of Taylor. Instead, this trigger happy cowboy cop was charged with “first degree wanton endangerment” for shooting like a madman into neighboring apartments during the raid.

Now, the former officer Hankison is finally getting some attention but not for his role in murdering Breonna Taylor. This attention comes in the form of a lawsuit accusing the officer of sexual assault and rape.

The lawsuit, filed on Tuesday, calls Hankison a “sexual predator” who “used his police uniform and secondary nightclub employment as mechanisms to prey on innocent women who are two decades younger than him.”

According to the alleged victim, law graduate Margo Borders, she met Hankison in 2017 and they had a mutual friend. Hankison “frequently messaged” Borders on Snapchat and reached out to her when he was “having problems with his girlfriend,” according to the lawsuit.

On the night in question, Borders was intoxicated and attempted to take an Uber home from a local bar where Hankison was working security in uniform. However, Hankison insisted on driving her, according to the lawsuit. Hankison then invited himself into Borders’ apartment as Borders went to her room and fell asleep. According to the lawsuit, when she was unconscious, Hankison “willfully, intentionally, painfully and violently sexually assaulted” her.

When Borders regained consciousness, she yelled for Hankison to get off her; he then grabbed his uniform and left her room, according to the lawsuit. Later that day, Hankison messaged Borders “to try and suggest that the two had engaged in consensual relations,” according to the lawsuit.

“Margo and so many other women put their trust in what they thought was a police officer doing a good deed. He responded by damaging their lives,” said Sam Aguiar, one of Borders attorneys. “We are confident that this litigation will send a message that the community will hold the police accountable when the department itself fails to do so.”

Aguiar, who represented Breonna Taylor’s family in their lawsuit, says this wasn’t an isolated incident. Borders’ lawsuit includes claims from nine other women who claim everything from unwanted sexual advances to sexual assault.

In fact, according to the lawsuit, Hankison’s internal police department file details more than 50 internal reports, including “at least two Public Integrity Unit investigations which included allegations of sexual misconduct.”
However, when the department conducted an investigation, they acquitted Hankison of the accusations — an unsurprising move considering that he wasn’t charged in Taylor’s case until the public demanded it for 6 months.

In June, Borders shared her story on social media.

In an impassioned post on Facebook, Borders, who studied law at the University of Louisville, said her assault took place in 2018 and she had nowhere to go because her rapist was a cop.

"In April of 2018 I went out to a bar with some friends. I went to call an uber home and a police officer who I had interacted with on many occasions at bars in St. Matthews offered me a ride home. He drove me home in uniform, in his marked car, invited himself into my apartment and sexually assaulted me while I was unconscious.

It took me months to process what had happened and to realize that it wasn’t my fault and I didn’t ask for that to happen by allowing him to give me a ride home. I never reported him out of fear of retaliation. I had no proof of what happened and he had the upper hand because he was a police officer. Who do you call when the person who assaulted you is a police officer? Who were they going to believe? I knew it wouldn’t be me. ‬

‪In ‬March of 2020 that same officer and two others (John Mattingly and Myles Cosgrove) entered the home of Breonna Taylor under a no-knock warrant and with absolutely no regard for anyone’s life shot over 22 rounds murdering Breonna Taylor while she was sleeping.Brett Hankison has a history of violence, sexual assault, and planting drug evidence on people. There have been multiple allegations against this man and reports but all cases dropped and no disciplinary action taken.

He is currently on paid leave in Florida on the beach.I implore all of you to demand justice for all of his victims, but mostly demand justice for Breonna Taylor.

If you’re not angry, you’re not paying attention."

Emily Terry, Hankison’s other alleged victim, tells a similar story of a cop preying on drunk women after the bars closed. The only difference is that the sexual assault started in the car on the way home. Unlike Borders, Terry’s case was allegedly reported to police, who apparently took no action.

In fact, the lawsuit, alleges that colleagues of Hankison at the LMPD, including former Chief Steve Conrad, knew of his conduct but never reported or investigated it. It also alleges that “multiple women claim that reports made to LMPD over the incidents were made, but were not pursued.”

Given the fact that the department refused to investigate or charge the officers involved in Taylor’s death, it should come as no surprise that they would also cover up allegations of rape against their officers. This is the nature of the thin blue line.

Department Lied to Keep Evidence Secret on Network of Pedophile Cops in Explorer Program

Inside information into the years-long child sex abuse saga involving Louisville Metropolitan Police Department (LMPD) officers was not at all easy to obtain and now we know why. The department hid 738,000 records documenting the sexual abuse of Explorer Scouts by officers — and then, according to records requested by the Courier Journal, lied to keep the files from the public.

According to the Journal, last year, the newspaper requested all records regarding the sexual abuse of minors by LMPD officers involved in the Explorer program, a program for children who are interested in becoming cops. However, police claimed that they couldn’t turn over the records, telling the Journal that they had already been turned over to the FBI.

“LMPD does not have possession or control of the records,” LMPD records custodian Alicia Smiley wrote in a Sept. 3, 2019, letter to Assistant Attorney General Marcus Jones. “When the investigation was taken by the FBI, all copies of the investigative materials … were physically removed from the premises, digital devices and servers of LMPD.”

But that was a lie, the LMPD had hundreds of thousands of records on child sexual abuse by officers in the Explorer program.

According to the Journal, the department still had at least 738,000 records, which the city allowed to be deleted.

The records detail the actions taken — or rather not taken — when the department learned about the sexual abuse of children in the program.

“I have practiced open records law since the law was enacted 45 years ago, and I have never seen anything so brazen,” said Jon Fleischaker, an attorney for The Courier Journal. “I think it's an outrage.”

Another lawyer for The Courier Journal, Michael Abate, said the city’s conduct was especially egregious given the case involves the sexual abuse of children by police officers and the department’s failure to prevent it.

Metro Council President David James said Wednesday, according to the Journal, that “it’s very disturbing to me that either the county attorney’s office or the police department was so dead-set on making sure those records never reached the public.”

Councilman Anthony Piagentini, R-19th, said, “There aren’t the appropriate words to describe how indefensible this is. The administration oversaw the sexual exploitation of minors and then deleted evidence.”

Jean Porter, a spokesman for Mayor Greg Fischer, said his “focus is getting to the truth in this horrific case.”

“Issues of ownership for records in an investigation led by a federal task force are not as clear as your newspaper would suggest,” she said in a statement. “The mayor is awaiting the independent review being conducted for the Jefferson County Attorney’s office before deciding next steps, and he remains committed to releasing all documents that the law allows.”

When confronted about being caught in a lie, the department and the city issued a statement “amending previous factual statements made in error.” But attorneys for the paper are not buying it.

“The law requires them to truthfully tell us what records they have in their possession,” Fleischaker said. “The law requires them to maintain the integrity of the documents. What they did is quite the opposite. That is a violation of the open records law and potentially a violation of the law of tampering with evidence.”

“They intentionally put them out of reach,” Abate added.

In a disturbing description to FOX News , one of the victims went into graphic detail on how he was abused and raped by people he looked up to.

“C.F., who uses a pseudonym to protect his identity in a civil lawsuit, said that what should have been a golden opportunity to learn about law enforcement became a nightmare of exploitation and sexual abuse."

It's idiots like these pigs that just continue to earn the hate and further the divide between citizens and LEO.

                      PCPD: Officer terminated after incident

PANAMA CITY, Fla. (WMBB) – Panama City Police Department officials said they’ve fired an officer involved in a use of force incident on Thursday.

The incident happened on 11th Street and Everitt Avenue, near the Chapman Early Education Center.

An incident report states the arresting officer responded to a disturbance outside the education center. The officer saw Calvin Pittman, 41, pushing a wheelchair and filming staff and students with his phone.

The officer said Pittman was agitated and loud. When asked why he was filming the students and staff, Pittman said, “they were out to kill me, and I have to record it,” before saying that he thought that the officers were fake police and that he was scared of them.

The officer said Pittman tried to walk into oncoming traffic multiple times during the confrontation.

The officer said that when he was going to take Pittman into custody, Pittman became aggressive with police brutality and other comments.

Tony Bostick, Northwest Florida Minority Business Chamber leader, said that Pittman has “diminished mental capacity.”

“He’s been known to walk around town and sometimes he goes in and out but he doesn’t harm anyone,” Bostick said.

During the arrest, a secondary incident occurred between a police officer and Mr. Pittman, which required the arresting police officer to intervene.

Bostick said that the details of what happened during the secondary incident are still unclear.

The arresting officer reported the incident to supervisors and Chief Scott Ervin opened a secondary investigation into the complaint.

As a result of the subsequent investigation, the second police officer, whose name will not be released, involved in the incident, has been terminated from the Department.

“So far, what we know is that Mr. Pittman was assaulted by a Panama City police officer. A secondary officer stood by and watched it without intervening, and then a third officer actually came in and pulled him off,” Bostick said. “As a result, now they’re trying to say that Mr. Pittman assaulted the other officer that pulled him off.”

Part of the incident was captured on video. During the encounter, you can see one officer pull another officer away from a man on the ground in handcuffs.

“It shows a lack of empathy and just a blatant disrespect for humanity when the officer assaulted her brother in front of her,” he said. “I think that was really, really uncalled for.”

The report said that Pittman was calling for medical help and stated that he couldn’t breathe, among other medical complaints once he was in handcuffs.

Pittman was transferred to Bay Medical Center where he was medically cleared.

Pittman was charged with disorderly conduct.

This ignorant pig thinks a vehicle's license plates are private information and cannot be filmed. How can a cop be this uneducated concerning really basic knowledge? If a license plate was private information it wouldn't be displayed on the vehicle for all to see. What a tool.

The arrestee was filming police activity on public property.

The chief of police in Corunna, Michigan, has been fired after video footage showed him arresting a man who was recording on public property. The police chief told the man that he doesn’t “give a f*¢k” about his rights.

Matthew Wrosch was recording outside in a field where a suicidal man was threatening to jump from a tower on Friday.

At the start of a live-streamed video Wrosch later saved on YouTube, two police officers approach him and ask him what he’s doing.

“First Amendment protected activity,” the man says. “Unless you got it taped off, I can be here.”

The officers explain they are trying to avoid the man getting agitated and falling before they can talk him down. When Wrosch asks for their names and badge numbers, they comply, and he offers to move farther back to ensure he is out of their way.

“Just because a person’s life hangs in the balance here, I decided that I would move back by these big electric poles so that I’m not as noticeable to the guy,” Wrosch tells his viewers. “I do not want to be the reason he decides to jump, that’s for sure.”

Later, Police Chief Nick Chiros approaches Wrosch solo, and the situation escalates. “Hey you, I need you to get out of here,” Chiros says. Wrosch declines and informs Chiros that he’s protected under the First Amendment.

Chiros repeatedly tells him to get out and appears to grab Wrosch’s recording device before warning that he’ll arrest him if he doesn’t leave. Wrosch asks why he would be arrested, to which Chiros replies, “For interfering.”

After some additional back and forth, Chiros goes to arrest Wrosch, who doesn’t resist but does continue filming. “I guess I’m getting arrested, guys,” he says. “Everybody start bombing the Corunna police with phone calls because he’s illegally arresting me right now.”

In the remainder of the video, Chiros tries to figure out how to turn off Wrosch’s camera (which Wrosch warns him is also a violation of his rights). Chiros appears to dig through Wrosch’s pockets and tells him to “shut the hell up” when he protests. Chiros later throws the phone to the ground, where it continues to record.

“I don’t give a penetrate about your rights right now. I’m not politically correct. So shove that up your ass,” Chiros says. “So you’re going to jail. You’re gonna learn the hard way.”

“I’m not going to learn the hard way, you are,” Wrosch fires back.

“No, I’m not. F*¢k you,” Chiros says.

Wrosch was indeed taken to jail and processed before being released on Saturday morning. He later posted the video to YouTube and filmed himself protesting in front of City Hall.

The incident sparked outrage in the community and on social media, prompting the Corunna City Council to take action. The council voted unanimously 7-0 to fire Chiros, who had been police chief since 2015 and was planning to retire in January, Argus-Press reports.

Wrosch attempted to file a complaint against the two troopers who took him to jail and plans to file a civil suit against both them and Chiros.

After being on a 5½ month paid vacation while the pigs investigated themselves, officer Billy Oliver was finally terminated. However, even after being paid for doing nothing for almost half of a year, he will be paid all of his remaining vacation pay. How disgusting that even after Oliver was fired, the Sallisaw taxpayers still have to shell out more money to this jackboot.

More ignorant pigs over step their scope of authority and violate a man's 4th Amendment rights. Forcing a citizen under threat of arrest to lift or remove clothing for the purpose of photographing tattoos is not legal during a routine traffic stop. These pigs likely know this, but are so accustomed to violating peoples' rights and getting away with it that this is a normal practice and procedure. Once again the taxpayers are forced to cover the costs to defend these uneducated jackboots' criminal actions along with any settlement or lawsuits.

Pretty much so. Either they show up after they "get a call" of a reported crime or they are the bad actors violating people's rights and ignoring the laws that they swore an oath to uphold.

This is Public Service! Cop Runs Into Burning House, Saves 2 People and Their Dog

Conway, AR — There is no shortage of videos, testimonials, recordings, and records of police behaving in utterly horrifying ways. There are so many examples that we cannot possibly report on all of them. Because we focus so much on exposing bad cops and holding them accountable, we often get accused of being “cop haters.” But this is simply not true.

When cops uphold the rights of citizens, or expose bad cops among their ranks, we are quick to point this out. We have even had cops on the Free Thought Project podcast to discuss ways to bridge the gap between the police and the policed.

If we simply hated cops, how could we possibly attempt to fix the problem of policing? Most cops think that writing tickets for victimless crimes or kidnapping people for arbitrary illegal substance is righteous. If we close off a line of communication by simply “hating cops,” we will never change their minds on these issues.

This is how progress is made — by drawing attention to the bad cops while showing what policing could be like if there were more good cops. One of these good cops was captured on his body camera this week in a dramatic rescue in which he risked his own life to save people inside a burning home.

While fire fighters are equipped with respirators and protective gear to run into burning homes, cops are not. And, when Conway officer Carson Howard jumped from his car and ran inside a burning home on Monday, he had no such gear on his person.

On Monday, Carson was on a routine patrol when saw a house engulfed in flames with a lady begging for help in the front yard. A fire truck had not yet arrived and Carson was the first responder on the scene.

“I heard a lady come out of the house with two kids saying that there were still people inside,” Howard said.

As the video shows, Carson did not hesitate one bit as he ran toward the danger. Because the front door was engulfed in flames, he ran through a side door and into the smoke-filled home. Upon entering the home, Carson finds two people and a dog inside.

It wasn’t the typical throwing the unconscious person over your shoulder and carrying them to safety rescue like we see in the movies but it was certainly an act of heroism as the two people inside appeared confused and unable to get out. Carson then led them and the dog to safety and across the street away from the burning home.

“We got them over to the far side of the road and other officers spoke with them,” Howard said.

Carson said moments later, the entire house burned to the ground.

“I know that one of them was taken to the hospital for some burns and smoke inhalation but as far as I know, everyone’s okay,” Howard said.

Carson explained to KARK, that he would expect the same thing from other strangers if it was his family in the home.

“You know if it were my family inside, I would want some stranger to do the exact same thing,” Howard said.

Howard’s actions deserve praise for two different reasons. The first reason is that there were probably plenty of officers and regular citizens who would have rushed into the house that day but case law dating back to the 1930’s says that cops don’t have to do so.

The leading case on the topic is Warren v. District of Columbia, 444 A.2d 1 (D.C. Ct. of Ap., 1981) when the Court stated that the “fundamental principle of American law is that a government and its agents are under no general duty to provide public services, such as police protection, to any individual citizen.”

Because Carson has no duty to protect citizens, he was not legally bound to run into that home and he did so on his own accord, making him a true hero.

The second reason his actions deserve praise is that they did not involve an arrest or an extortion. When police provide a public service and no one is arrested, cited, or fined, the community wins out. What this highlights is that it is entirely possible for a community to be “policed” without preying on citizens.

If officers would concentrate more on helping those in need instead of kidnapping, caging, and killing people for victimless crimes, rest assured, there would be far less animosity toward cops. Thank you officer Carson for showing other cops what real public service looks like.

No charges filed and he wasn't arrested, but was only given a 60 day suspension from duty. Any other person, other than a pig, would not just be given 60 days off from their job, but would have been charged/arrested. What a joke.

AUSTIN — An Austin Police Department officer was suspended for 60 days for reportedly driving erratically and pulling a gun on another driver who rear ended him when he was off duty.A Nov. 10 memo from Chief Brian Manley says on May 23, officers were called out to Red River Street and East Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard after a caller reported someone had pulled a gun on him after a collision they were in.

When they got to the scene, the memo says police found the 911 caller and Officer Thomas Tuminelli with his personal car. It was found that “immediately after the collision occurred, a plain-clothed Officer Tuminelli exited his vehicle with his personally owned pistol in his hand.”

A corporal on scene told the 911 caller how to file a complaint with the Office of Police Oversight, according to the memo, and a complainant contact form was also done.

Internal Affairs also got dash cam videos from both the 911 caller and Tuminelli’s car, which showed that “Officer Tuminelli was driving recklessly in the vicinity of numerous motorists, and that he violated numerous traffic laws,” according to the memo. Some of the traffic laws include reckless driving, tailgating, speeding and brake checking.

After the 911 caller rear ended Tuminelli, the memo says the dash cam footage showed Tuminelli jumping out of his car and “brandishing his firearm.”

Tuminelli’s suspension started last week on Nov. 11 and will last through Jan. 9.
