A white police officer is less likely to shoot and kill a non white suspect than non white police officers were. In any given year, police kill more non white suspects than black suspects.

True, but the counter argument to that is when the FBI violent crime statistics are factored in. This is where things get all out of whack when comparing the population percentages.

Yeah we don't need to look at the total % of population, what we need to look at is incident reports. What's the breakdown of race in incident reports, then the figures will make sense.

My guess is incident reports are close to 40 40 20 in terms of race.

There might be 200 million whites in USA, but 150 million of them live in rural or non crime ridden areas hence the lower incident reports

I just find it odd that some people think only a % of the race is allowed to get killed.(Based on population).

It just makes me sick. All the camera footage and constant evidence, case after case and no justice. Cops right back to work.

I realize there are professional instigators and protestors out there but it seems the only way to even get the wheels of justice to begin to spin in these cases is to either make one up (like the "Hands up Don't shoot" Michael Brown gentle giant lie) or burn down a police station.

I can't believe it has to come to these things but the message is clear, when it does there will finally be some response.

So fukked up on so many levels.

I'm so torn here. I don't like the lawlessness but it's clear there needs to be revolutionary change, of which I could cite a few laws to enact and maybe even some to repeal.

I think of the American Revolution, how those guys were treasonous and how something like the Boston Tea Party was an act vandalism and looting, pure destruction of property.

This isn't all on Minny alone, it's nationwide, but part of me says let the city burn until the gov't steps up and makes it, at the very least, a hell of a lot easier to sue a cop, have cams on all cops, take more action for prior offenses, etc. Follow procedure, de-escalate, and a cop has nothing to worry about. (I don't at all think it ties the cop's hand, like rules of engagement for the military in places like middle east cities).

There needs to be more accountability.

I don't really want to see death and destruction, but just like I said with Kap, there is a movement with momentum and there simply needs to be a leader to step up, be able to work non violently, and be brave enough get things done. Kap couldn't do that.

Like I said, there could be momentum here even if it is in the realm of destruction, but I'll admit that I'm not holding my breath or growing a beard until we see some traction.

It sucks all around.
