Guys I'm having really severe gambling withdrawal
I've been betting very large amounts for basically an entire year

I am craving action very badly everyday. I told myself I would stop 2 weeks ago but I haven't been able to stop.

How can I get over this?

Go to the local gay bar and take home a dude. You will be so repulsed with yourself in the morning from this that your gambling won’t seem as bad.

You gotta find something else that stimulates you the same as gambling. Easy

I'm at the bottom now. I've lost everything in terms of money

I still have my wife, my house and my 2 cars but everything is gone. I've maxed out all my C-r-e-d-i-t cards and lost all my retirement savings

I'm gonna claim bankruptcy but I make a high income (200K) so I can't claim chapter 7. I have to do chapter 13, which will at least eliminate the interest

yes but the problem is it's not a stable job and I'm in the middle of a really bad slump. I have months where I make 30K but last 2 months, I've only made about 10-12K

It’s easy. Don’t watch any sports, don’t check scores, don’t talk to people about sports. Make a life without sports and after about a month you’ll be fine

Man up dude. Quit being a soft clown. You’ve been chest thumping about your betting and winnings for over a year… you also have told us 1000 times about your $200k and now it’s not stable? You just aren’t that good at any of this. Man up and grab your balls and get to work.

                                            Like Goduke said,

Delete all apps on your phone. Stop watching sports and my suggestion is to go back to playing sports. Basketball, football, tennis, golf, boxing, whatever it is where you can compete. The competition can release similar endorphines as gambling. Also if you just want to satisfy the itch, bet $25 per day on Fanduel if it's available in your state. Build parlays using alternate player props. Like just say Saquan to get 100 rush yards, tie at half and eagles win, Goddert touchdown, Hurts rush yards over, and your 25 is suddenly able to win 7 grand or something.

At 25 dollars per day, that's 100 bucks a week if you bet 4 days. Which is about 5 grand per year. At 200k salary, I think you can afford 5 grand per year, and odds are you will win at least 1 of those plays, if not 3-5, which means you'll probably break even at worst. This will give you the itch nearly every day because you'll have the potential to win a lot, but you won't lose anything that will make a difference to your life.

this is going to be a long post. if ur truly interested in understanding ur addiction.

1- depends if u have an actual NEED* to make a LOT of $ ? - this is REALLY bad.
2 - ... OR u just crave the rush of betting on something ? - ONLY if u can afford to.

                                                in the 1st CASE

. u just have to decide, if u ARE addicted, do u WANT to continue this path and do the same things over and over
then reevaluate ur life, take some time to reflect on things , go to a like a fkking park in the afternoon,, and sit on the fkking bench for however long u can. until u feel compelled to get up... this is a sort of meditation. i'm not goign to preach the benefits of meditation and how to do it properly .. but this is a start.
.... OR u can take some time to really reevaluate and write down . HOW ur betting/ ur strategies. / who ur tailing / fading . stats . etc.
give urself 2 weeks, with only 1 deposit ...
WATCH motivational youtube videos / listen to the audios as much as possible - Earl nightingale/ Napoleon Hill (think and grow rich) / Alan watts etc. there r so many...
if u end up blowing everything, then go to GA.

                                                in the 2nd CASE
. if u doing it purely for the rush of betting .
find something else to get "addicted" to ... somethign healthy .. a sport u like to play ?
any outdoor/ indoor activity u like to do with friends / family / SO .
replace the addiction with another addiction . that is HEALTHY . LITERALLY ANYTHING. replacing a habit with another is the fastest way to get a bad habit out and a good habit in .
give urself 2 weeks for this ....
AGAIN i stress this a lot . YOUTUBE is ur friend. we live in the most accessible age of human race ever.
WATCH motivational youtube videos / listen to the audios everyday. Earl nightingale/ Napoleon Hill (think and grow rich) / Alan watts etc. there r so many... it dosent have to invovle actual $ . but growing in terms of being rich* in friends, experiences etc.
some rich penetrate once said, when asked what is something money CANT buy? he answered, happiness (which is overrated and fleeting anyways) , being content / peace with the urself* r more realistic goals... and to answer the question he answered some of the best experiences in his life were free. and did not cost him anything....so theres that.

remember there is no such thing as an ex-addict. when it comes to anything , gambling, drugs, women , obsessions. if u like somethjing a lot ... u cant UN-like it no matter what. u just have to accept it .
a daily sense of 1- ACCEPTANCE and 2- GRATITUDE is everything .. there r huge subjects to explore and read about.

If u still end up succumbing to the addiction after 2 weeks of this... go to GA.

                                                -------------

some parting words... im not religious or anything, but spiritual .
they say "the Gods laugh at people who pray for money" . take it how u want to.

Bad advice everywhere if he is an addict

Addicts need 3rd party intervention or he will be homeless

These days I can be around Xanax without spazzing out and taking those stupid pills. I know they'll feel good but I also know what they did to me.
