I've been trying to quit gambling for weeks
And everyday I relapse and put a couple thousand on a crazy parlay to get back some of what I've lost

Are there any tips on how to help deal with intense withdrawal symptoms? I have a beautiful life - good job, good friends and family, good looking wife. I hate myself for allowing this to ruin me

monday I lost a 4 teamer on kansas baylor over. It would have won 11K. The worst part is my first instinct was to bet baylor (which won), last second I decided to get cutesy and bet the over instead

tuesday I lost a 4 teamer on a clippers/lakers game. My first instinct was to take the clippers at -3 but the line went all the way up to 5 and Lakers have been super competitive at home for several months now. I bought a few points up to +8.5 but lakers couldn't even cover that

I've lost 3 parlays in a row on the very last leg

You are not unique. Every degenerate loses the parlay on the “last leg”…

You should try cocaine if you want an high with a crash on the last leg…

All my c-r-e-d-i-t cards are maxed out. I took out a home equity loan on my house. It's really horrible what gambling has done to me. I'm gonna claim bankruptcy probably next month

I used to have 200K between 401K and savings, perfect credit score, huge equity in my house. My life has been destroyed

Instead of the generic responses just do you, whatever that may be. Let the tendency play out it's course and see where everything is once the dust settles

It's one thing to lose a big parlay on the last leg

It's a whole another level of soul crushing to lose it when your first instinct you wanted to play wins easily. Both the clippers and the baylor won fairly easily last 2 days.

sorry to hear that sir. but only you can change yourself. by seeking professional help. . You are a junkie to put it bluntly. talking about it on a gambling board ain't going to change your outlook.

I've gone through long periods in the past where I didn't gamble and I was fine. I'm talking I went through years without gambling

this last year, I got hooked really really bad by betting huge huge amounts

I keep winning 3 out of the 4 legs. It's absolutely soul crushing

There's things that give me a high - music, weight lifting, being with my dog. None of these are as intense as sports gambling though

I just gotta stay away from it for a couple weeks and I Think I'll be fine. The withdrawal will be gone and I can focus on other things

yeah maybe. but the problem is sports are year round. Gambling commercials everywhere you turn. the allure of EASY $$$$ in your mind. Much easier said than done to go cold turkey

One more thing EG. the programs like AA and GA are not for everyone. But for some it's paramount in their recovery.

Ya know, in my gambling career- whenever I lose my first instinct is I should have took the other side. Pretty much every time I lose I say that to myself.

It would be easier to quit it if I was losing 3 out of the 4
Just bet the 4 games every single night and if you win 3 you are at 75% and going from rags to riches in no time. Matter of fact- I’ll buy those picks.

This is why all sportsbooks should be required to have quit options on them like pokersites have, where you can click an option to have your account basically locked where you can quit gambling for a certain length of time or forever if you wish. No matter how much you complain after clicking forever the site will never reinstate you.

They call it banning games under responsible gambling at site like Americas Cardroom that has Casino, Poker, and Sports.

you need to walk away. this is at least your 3rd thread where you tried to "quit" but have not. at this point my response changes and says you need professional help or you will end up really destitute. i think you need to forget about SBR, close all sportsbooks and really get help. borrowing from equity in your house needs to be your last sign.
