DEI is resoundingly unpopular as evidenced by the majority of voters in our most recent election.
Now the losers claim that the election was the result of misogyny and racism.
Actually, Americans are fed up with identity politics and are ready to have a functioning country with actual borders

Hopefully things are turning around with several companies now stopping the DEI nonsense. I am hopeful.

#3925imagine in today's world that you would be denied a job, which you are qualified for, because of you skin color. That is DEI. The lunatic Left can throw out all the racist and misogyny comments all they want but it won't take away from teh facts. They don't care though, so they will keep trying.

#3933You just say nothing with allot of words jack.
Like when you said Corporations move to foreign countries for cheap labor when the main reason is the U.S. ridiculous taxing of the companies. I answered your phony answer and you just ignored it. So, what YOU say is bullshat in my view and simply a diversionary tactic to push your pro communist agenda along with the democrats. Or maybe you're just overmedicated at certain times.
Milton Friedman. He was an economist with what was considered some pretty fringe ideas at the time, he basically championed the concept of “supply side economics”. This is the economic theory better known as “trickle-down economics”. Basically, the idea that you cut taxes, regulation and government spending and like magic, everything will thrive!
Milton didn’t have a lot of fans, but he had one huge fan, Ronnie Reagan.
This chap was a Hollywood actor, turned GE corporate shill after his Hollywood career had dried up. He later became the governor of California and then the President of the United States. As a corporate stooge and let’s face it, not the sharpest tool in the shed, he thought that the ideas espoused by Milton were freaking brilliant!
As President old Ronnie decided that what the US needed was tax cuts, lots and lots of tax cuts and that’s what he got, as well as a huge deficit. Welcome to the era of financially irresponsible Republicans. Ronnie, bless his heart, truly believed that embracing supply side economics would lead to a balanced budget, better economy, higher wages and for every child to have a magical pony…well, the last part I made up, but it’s just as magical thinking. For what it’s worth, Ronnie’s wife Nancy, was known to visit Astrologers, so there’s that.
A few important things happened under Ronnie, he cut regulations, including those pesky ones that made it extremely difficult for corporations to do stock buybacks as it was seen as price manipulation, and he lowered tax rates like a LOT. This created incentive for companies to squeeze every tiny bit of profit out of the company, since it was being taxed at a lower rate and allowed them to manipulate stock price by doing large buybacks.
Now enter this dude…
Jack Welch (aka Neutron Jack). Jack was once affectionately known as America’s CEO, ironic considering that during his tenure he eliminated over 100,000 American jobs. Not because the economy was bad, but because he eliminated their jobs altogether, he wasn’t called Neutron Jack for nothing. Jack was a Republican, he really liked Ronnie, he also really liked Trump.
Jack decided that GE being one the largest companies in the world just wasn’t enough, he had a big appetite, and it was insatiable. What Jack ended up doing was spending 20 years cooking the books of GE, buying out companies and then consolidating them into GE and firing tons of people, shutting down tons of factories and firing those people as well. He just LOVED firing people.
What one must remember about this era in American business is that GE was the undisputed leader. If GE did something, everyone else followed. What Jack realized was that these pesky American workers who wanted a livable wage and safe work environment were just too bloody expensive, so he started shutting down factories left and right and having things made overseas where things like human rights aren’t really a thing. Eventually this would culminate in GE basically getting out of manufacturing altogether and just licensing their name to foreign companies.
Basically, what led to the outsourcing of American industry were the incentives created under Reagan to do so. If stock price is everything, then juicing the profits are top priority. If you can build products overseas for pennies on the dollar and the US government is singing the praises of free trade, then guess what? Screw the American worker, let’s cut 10,000 jobs so that we can make more on those washing machines! It worked brilliantly, American after American saw their jobs go overseas, the companies became more profitable than ever, they used those low taxed profits to buy back huge amounts of shares, their stock prices soared and supply side economics did what supply side economics does.
In conclusion, supply side economics did not lower the deficit, did not create a better economy or higher wages or give every child a magic pony. It did create a nutty stock market that has become a game of price manipulations with far too few regulations. It did wreak havoc on American manufacturing. It did screw over America’s heartland. It was a Republican idea and sadly even now, many Democrats still subscribe to a version of this.
It wasn’t regulation that caused this to happen, it was removing regulation that allowed this to happen on top of cutting taxes and this silly idea that the free market will magically do what is best. Just like before, the people that would be screwed over the worst by the politician’s policies vote for the politician. It happened under Reagan and it’s happening again under Trump. This is all very well known, but so few of the American electorate have a freaking clue. They are still buying the tired argument from the 1980’s despite having seen it fail for the past 40 years.
This is the direct result of supply side economics, Morning in America indeed. Enjoy it my fellow Americans because you voted for it when you voted for Reagan, and you voted for it again when you voted for Trump.

Former "Dancing with the Stars" professional dancer Valentin Chmerkovskiy aired grievances on social media Wednesday, writing, "5th largest economy on the planet. Firefighters didn't have enough water pressure to do their jobs?! Are you joking me?! The taxes we pay for 3rd world infrastructure is unbelievable?! Come on."
Sara Foster wrote on X, We pay the highest taxes in California. Our fire hydrants were empty. Our vegetation was overgrown, brush not cleared. Our reservoirs were emptied by our governor because tribal leaders wanted to save fish. Our fire department budget was cut by our mayor. Affirmative action and DEI are the definition of racism. It's not just an opinion. They are literally judging human beings by the color of their skin. Imagine if a person of color applied to be a firefighter and was told it will take 7 years, while a White person could apply on Wednesday. How would that go over?
Hopefully this last election will continue to restoration of decency and common sense throughout the country, and others around the globe, and end this insanity once and for all.Last edited by DwightShrute; 01-11-25, 07:27 AM.Comment -

You are absolutely wrong about the rate. I'm all about tax breaks for corporations. You start out with about a 40% to 50% rate. Then you get breaks for things you do. You don't get them just because.
Put money in communities get a break. Hire employees get a break and so on. You don't get a break, and we hope you will do the right thing. Thats trickle down and it don't work. It didn't work in the 80's or any other time in our history.Comment -
