Anyone ever seen this craps strategy?
I live in Dallas and decided to shuffle on down to Shreveport this weekend, since they typically comp rooms Sun-Thurs.* Lately, I’ve been sticking with craps because that’s what I think I normally do best at. I really enjoy playing, but sometimes, I can have just as much fun by just watching everyone at the table. I try to figure out their strategy.* I have a great time watching others win.*
    *
I observed an afternoon session at a $5 table.* The table was crowded but I was able to get a clear view of an old timer that caught my eye.* He held a notepad in his hand and wrote down EVERY number that was rolled. Occasionally, you would see him put out a FIELD bet for a fairly large amount (typically around $300). After he did this about 5 times, I noticed that the Supervisor was keeping a very close eye on him.* After about 45 min, he had one of those plastic trays filled with $100 chips, and another tray that had quite a few $100s and different denominations mixed in.* From what I could see, I estimated he had about $15k in front of him.* He had so many chips that his wife just stood beside him to make sure everything was stacked properly.* I watched him win about 10 of those bets, then his chip situation got out of hand (too many to handle), so he stepped away.* The stickman said “thanks for playing sir!” and the guy replied “oh don’t worry, I’ll be back shortly.”* Then the guy and his wife went off to a corner of the casino to rest, get a drink, and count all of their money.* It was pretty impressive to watch this guy. A couple of times, he hit a 2 or 12 which pay double and triple.
    *
I couldn’t stop thinking about this guy and what looked to be a pretty good strategy.* I thought about going over to ask him what his strategy was but I didn’t want to bother him.* I went back to the table a few time later in the day and I couldn’t find him.*
    *
Has anyone ever played a strategy similar to this?* From what I could tell, he would wait for a predetermined number of non-field rolls, then bet the field bet. Out of the many bets I saw him make, he won every single one of them. I guess this is why he drew so much attention from the pit boss.

I said i live in Dallas to illustrate Shreveport was the closest casino offering craps.

I doubt I'll be going back there anytime soon to watch this guy play. That's why I asked everyone here if they were familiar with anything similiar.

Sounds like he would wait for a certain number of field bets to lose in a row and then place his bet.

Cant argue with 15,000, but as you very well know, the field is always at a disadvantage percentage wise.

Best field you can play is either the 2 or 12 pays triple. If you can find a table where both the 2 and 12 pay triple than the house edge is 0%. However the only casino I can think of that offers this or offered this was the Santa Ana Star in New Mexico. Does anyone know if they still offer triple pay on 2 and 12?
