Any favorite food/bar recommendations? Going to Saratoga for the first time tomorrow. They canceled Saturday's card so will have more time to eat and drink in town than I otherwise may have. Give me a few recommendations men.

#2not sure your age or what type of atmosphere you are looking for......
Broadway is the main strip and Caroline street is the main street for the partying bars. My favorite bar there is the City Tavern. The tavern offers 5 floors with each floor having a different vibe/atmosphere. Some low key and I think floor 4 is the party/ house music floor. The top floor at the tavern is great because it's on top of the roof with a good view of the city.
on broadway there's a ton of good food spots....druthers and thirsty owl are really goodComment -
#3Gaffney's is another good spot on Caroline street.
When I was younger and I mean that lightly I'm only 28 now. but I live 20 minutes away from Toga
When I was 21-24 we used to get a huge party bus like 3-4x a year and go with 20+ people to downtown Saratoga. We would start at Saratoga Racino and then go to the club inside there called Vapor. Great for older women
and then from Vapor hit Caroline street and just disperse into groups from there and all meet at the bus at end of night. Needless to say I've been kicked out of the bars a few times with our group. But it was great timesComment -
#4Solid info Sammy. Thanks. I'm 33 so won't be running wild but will have a good buzz without a doubt. More into Pubs/Lounge atmosphere than clubs these days but every now and then I'll check out a spot that I'm probably way too old for.Comment -
#5Everything in Saratoga Springs is nice there’s no bad spots
Gamer A lot of high-class people there especially now I don’t think you’re going to fit in a guy like you is better off in Albany area
Also try not to get locked upComment -
#6Damn JJ!
I'll hang around waiting for some drunk rich kid to leave his betting voucher in a machine then bolt. Will pay for the whole weekend pal. Should have included me in your top con men list.Comment -
#7Too bad it’s going to be so hot it’s going to be uncomfortable up there I wonder if they’re going to have simulcasting Saturday although a lot of tracks are canceledComment -

#23Harness track right down the street. Slot machines, simulcast wagering, air conditioning, live harness racing at night. Also has pretty good club (good for milfs) which Sammy mentioned earlier.Comment -

#25crew i go to saratoga with has me getting dropped off at the racino and they come after they've suffered through a tedious day in that over rated saratoga t-bred track where you can't see the race unless you watch on a sun drenched tv screen anyway. apron out front slants the wrong way and is only a few feet deep. difficult to bet if you do it the old fashioned way at the windows but they do it on their phones with a adw and concessions are way over priced. also security people are nasty in the parking areas and inside.Comment -

I personally like to stand behind the clubhouse seating area for the races. You can see the whole track and have a TV right over your head. When race is over I head back to my chair in the paddock area.Comment -
#27that's a good spot if you can get near it. still all the other negatives come into play. if you like people and live product then you can put up with it. i'm too jaded now to accept nothing but comfort. plus difficult to bet other tracks there. it can be done but is a task.Comment -

I usually make my bets online with my phone to avoid betting with tellers and kiosks. Then you don’t have to deal with people or lines.
Things are a lot nicer during the week as the weekends bring in out of town people and the place gets too packed. It’s a lot worse when it’s hot out.
I always bring a lawn chair and a cooler. I’m not paying for drinks at those track prices. This way I always have a seat also. I find a shady place to set up my chair.Comment -

#35Great getaway. Back in D.C. now. Only got to the races on Friday. I was way too hung over and the weather was far too hot to stick around for today. Went whitewater rafting and fishing yesterday to beat the heat with the canceled card. Very lively downtown with everything close by. Hit up Salt and Char on Friday night for dinner after the races. We had a good meal there but for the $ we'd probably look elsewhere in the future. Spent last night partying. The City Tavern was pretty awesome. I think everyone agreed it was the funnest drink spot we hit. Solid recommendation from Sammy.Comment
