The change is a bit painful for me too. But hoping to get used to it and the devs get a few tweaks done and bugs ironed out fully.
Start with "My Posts", which used to be a great way for me to find anything recently commented on.
Second, hide the membership list. Nothing like exposing the lameness of the membership totals. First page shows accounts created in 2011 with zero posts. Set some limits (3 years and zero posts??) and delete that sh&t.
I'm getting these or similar everywhere. "Search result already expired, please try a new search." Last time was when I selected my posts, which was under my user profile??
Things are super spaced out everywhere which makes it more work to scroll through everything.
Too much wasted space versus the previous software which was more condensed and a bit easier to navgate through. We were able to see more things on one page for sure which makes it less work to move around and be able to see more things quickly.
Perhaps if the line spacing was reduced then maybe it could help?
It is definitely more spaced out, it's tough to replicate the condensed format of old forums with the new responsive layouts (adjusts to the screen size you are using). The old forum had two different experiences on desktop vs mobile. But fair point I will raise to see if anything can be done to reduce the spacing.

My Posts can be found on your profile drop-down in the top right hand corner of the page:
As for the membership list, we have decided to remove that feature.

Apologies guys, we are still working through the last of the caching issues which are causing those intermittent errors. Hoping to put it to bed once and for all here soon.
Well there were 9 guys left that posted on the regular and 8 of 'em don't like the layout. I'm no mathematician but....
And no, I don't need to time to adjust, there's a fantasy football board I'll sometimes visit with the identical layout and I still think it's poop. I know it's probably not going to reset to it's former self so we may be witnessing the end times. What's the point of copying the competition in this particular facet? SBR had an identity and now it's gone.

It's not so much about copying the competition, it's just that a lot of sites use this forum software platform to power their forums, so if you are a part of other communities that use this platform, there will be a lot of similarities. The old version of SBR, back in the day was a style widely used by a variety of forums across the internet then as well. It's just that here, it became incredibly outdated, so you didn't see it much anymore as other platforms upgraded to the newer software versions. The look of SBR hadn't changed since 2014.
But it's more than it looking different - upgrading the software also allows us to ensure better security and better functionality (as we iron out any unforeseen bugs post launch) as well. The more version upgrades you skip, or hang back, the less compatible with updated tech your site becomes. We do understand that change isn't always welcome, but unfortunately sometimes it is necessary. I am sorry though that you hate it - and appreciate your honesty and feedback.
One thing that I would love to see changed if possible is the default font size. It's just a little too small in my opinion - would be easier on the eyes if it's possible to change that.

That's fair. I figured it was a software issue where changes were made wholesale. I get that there are other functions accompanying the change that should improve the overall experience, but I find it a little ironic that an updated version is visually unappealing, and, as many others have commented, actually evokes an early internet aesthetic. Vintage doesn't add charm in this case.

I hear ya - it isn't perfect, and we would love for you guys to let us know what you would like to see. That doesn't mean that everything is possible, but if it makes sense, and it's doable, we will be happy to make changes as they make sense.
The outdated, vintage comments though, I have to admit puzzle me. I'm not seeing that at all, but we all have our different perceptions.

SBR should just go back
Seriously, I can post from my 15 year old tablet, but my 1 year old phone can't post.
That will be the browser type probably.
I had to install Opera to get back in to the site myself myself. Devs are still working on why Edge is not caching properly. Hopefully everything will work soon.
How do you quote multiple post? There used to be a button for that.
After you hit "Quote" on each post you want to quote, you have to hit the 'Post Reply (X)' button at the top to add the quotes to the reply box. The number in brackets will indicate the number of posts you have quoted.

AGREED!!
This has been raised by a few folks so will bring this to our team to see if that can be adjusted. Thanks!
