Bet 365 settled bet incorrectly

I am writing regarding a bet I placed on bet365 on 30th Jan


Handball - Angola vs Algeria - Total Goals Under 43.5 - £700 (live in play)


After checking the official website the result was confirmed as 24-19, totalling 43 goals.


I have provided a link to the official site http://www.egypt2016.com/en/schedule (game 45) for your reference. There are also several other websites that will support this information.


After speaking with Paul Chatterley (manager), he admitted the fault with the settlement and agreed to resolve the mater asap.


I noticed the money hadn't appeared so I called a few hours later and spoke to a supervisor named Jack to query why this hadn't been completed. He advised that bet365 felt the result had been settled correctly (they believe 44 goals were scored). I referred the staff member to the official website to which he replied that he had contradicting information. I asked him to elaborate and he refused and suggested I make a complaint with a governing body should I wish to take the matter further,


The terms and conditions clearly state: Statistics provided by the official score(s) provider or the official website of the relevant competition or fixture will be used to settle wagers.

At this stage they are refusing to discuss the matter further with me. I would greatly appreciate any advice you could give me.

Seems like a lot of problems originate from live betting on obscure events.

They should not offer odds on sports they are not willing to payout on, really ridiculous this i know people from that part of England in stoke are tight with there money but why set odds on sports they have no clue about.

there you have the whole game. I skipped to the end and it seems that bet365 has the correct score. However, maybe there was a technical mistake so somebody has to watch everything to confirm what the score is, I sure as hell am not watching that

If you think it was for rudeness just shoot an email with a short apology for losing it after 2.5 hours on the line and that will usually solve that one.

As far as the grading, for most sports they pay an external service to provide scores and the incident reports like corners and penalties etc. If that service told them the final score was 25-19 it will not be changed easily, whatever any other website says.

If they say they are investigating they probably are double checking it for you but that will require waiting for the incident provider to double check and agree that they are the ones in error first. And honestly, in my experience it is the incident feed provider who usually turns out to be correct in these things.

Never had one issue with Bet365 personally, always treated me fair and paid out lightning fast. Stick with the main sports and you shouldn't have issues, it's always when bettors target these niche sports is when problems arise. Bet365 A+ book imo, be courteous and they will resolve the issue, getting mad and belligerent won't help matters I'm afraid

Not to invalidate my previous question but what you described probably has little if any influence on the grading part of the story. You may have prolonged the agony by having a little attitude towards the support crew member(s) but the most important thing is b365 believes their grading was correct. In my experience they are rarely if ever wrong. Also, anyone thinking a serious book would go out of their way every chance they get for a couple thousand extra profit - even on a small market event like this - needs a reality check.

B365 is a serious book.

If they weren't there would be 15 threads like this every week, with the number of obscure events they line.

watch the game samus82 and count the goals. if it is troublesome to watch the game because of more than a 1000euros then you either do not need the money and earn much more than that every hour of your life (but you spent many hours on the phone over it so you probably care about that money) or you know that their score is actually correct but you are just trying to get them to pay using a typo at the official website as proof

I remember on the world cup, the official page had listed the corners inaccurately.
Of course, Bet365 was correct and the official page wrong, I was upset but after watching the highlights comments and the video footage I saw for myself, Bet365 was right.
Official pages don't really have skin in the game for being accurate in details, the just care who won, who lost, who got the points, who advances.
