Does anyone here consistently buy/sell using localbitcoin. If so, has anyone used the giftcard options to sell. Seems too good to be true. Can I really get $1256 for 1 bitcoin? Can someone please explain. Or $929 for home depot and Walmart?

#5Very un-helpful site if you have an issue, Sold some bitcoin to a verified user via Email money transfer, 3 days later sold a little more to an unverified user, at the time I didn't notice but both transactions came from same email address. Got a call from my bank that both transactions were being contested by the sender. Sent Local and email explaining the situation how they had a verified user that was charging back a bank transfer and an unverified user using same bank account and was basically told to bad so sad not their problem. So use this site with extreme caution.Comment -
#6taking a shot with it. purchased a $500 gift card for $200 in btc. we'll update you with how it goes. I already received the gift card number and it worked with ebay. now we'll see if my account gets banned from ebayComment -
#7I sell gift cards all the time with localbitcoins. Never a problem. When I sell buyers almost always want receipt stating cash paid. Of course always redeem the gift card before releasing your bitcoins. Even if the gift cards were stolen or whatever there is very little they can do. As long as you have proof person paid cash and you redeem the code you are good.Comment -

#15I have done 100 at localbitcoins. Buying and selling never a problem. I also have done maybe 20 at paxful.com. Myu only problem is not having sellers awake or available when you need them. People are sloppy or just don't really care. I need like instant contact when I start a trade.Comment -
#16^^ reports like this is why I mostly warn people away from LBC.
You bought stolen goods. Don't kid yourself it's ok just because Ebay may not cancel it.

It is about Tas and Ben Pappas, brothers from Australia that tore up the vert skating scene back in the 80s/90s. I'm guessing you have heard of them? Almost positive you have...either way, you should check it out when you get a chance...interesting but quite tragic
"There are three sides to every story: your side, my side and the truth."
I did a little research online after watching and Tony Hawk of course shoots down Tas's claims.Comment -
#20off topic here but I watched a documentary last night, "All This Mayhem", and it was very good.

#22I read an article in business week yesterday about the absurd per capita dollars spent on slot machines in Australia. There must be slot machines everywhere.Comment -
#23I mentioned it to my son and he knew about them well. Party animals to the extreme with a violent streak by sounds. We are going to watch the doc tonight..Comment -

I could pick any direction to walk from home and run into a place with pokies within 15 mins. I think there is more pokies in Sydney than all of Nevada.
You can also find a TAB or a race track within 15 mins drive of just about anywhere in the city.
Only one casino but a second one is on the way.
My state govt collected about 7 billion in gambling taxes last year from 7 million population. About $1000 for every man woman and child in the state..Comment -
#25Find traders with 10 000+ trades with 100% .... some of them answere and trade 14 hours a day 7 days a week and you get your bitcoins in some minutes, at least thats my experienceComment -

These FOBTs are under a UK government review due to be completed by the end of this year, and with the Prime Minister and the Gambling Minister being firmly against FOBTs, hopefully that review will serve the purpose that it needs to and get rid of FOBTs for good.Comment -
#27In the UK it's a similar epidemic with FOBTs. The spread of them is the biggest scourge of our time. The horrific stories of suicides and the like directly linked to these awful machines is showing the general public that addiction isn't just a choice people make like most would believe, it's a serious illness and a brain disorder, and now some serious research is getting done about gambling addiction, many are starting to believe that gambling addiction is way more dangerous and way harder to give up than alcohol, drugs or any other addiction.

Although regular poker machines are probably heavily fed by addiction anyway too.
Gambling has been so integrated into society in this state for so long I think the rate of problem gambling is very well understood and anything that sees an increase in it is legislated back pretty fast.
Not that it isnt still a problem. Just one that the govt knows it cant let get out of control or it will lose it's revenue stream and look bad for "being addicted" to gambling tax themselves. Which does happen from time to time..Comment -
