Is it legal to bet via agents (Asianconnect, sportmarket, etc) in the UK? I know that these companies are not regulated by the UKGC but, what if a player want to pay taxes on his winnings? Can he do that?

If I recall correctly, it's not prosecuted but taxable.

Apparently betting at licensed books isn't, but betting via agents is.

Taxes are payed by bookmakers that must be regulated by the UK Gambling Commission. This reflects on lower odds for the players, since the odds "incorporate" taxes payed by the bookmakers.

The definition of a bet in the UK tax law is: '‘ ... an irrational agreement that one person should pay another person on the happening of an event." Doesn't matter with whom this is might be.

It isn’t taxable in UK. Unless something has changed very recently.
Where did that info come from?

It isn't taxable if players only play on regulated bookmakers (UKGC).. These bookmakers pay taxes for the players.

Winnings from a broker aren’t taxable in the UK either.

                          You don't like Betfair.com?

I prefer a lot of liquidity.
