Sportsbooks that refuse to deactivate your account
I admit I have a gambling problem as alot do.. I have an account with nitrogensports and requested they deactivate me so that I cannot tempt myself into playing. This was there response

Thank you for contacting us, and we're sorry to hear you want to disable your account.

However, please note that as a general rule, we do not close accounts. You can stop using the account at any time, and it will go into inactive status. However, sports books generally do not close/delete accounts, since your transactional and wagering history should always be available.

Since you want to deactivate your Nitrogen Sports account, we would like to take this opportunity to offer you the chance to check our new sister site and invite you to move your action to our brand-new website: www.nitrobetting.eu...

So I want to point out how defeating this feels to someone like me who is trying his hardest to do better. Like why would they do this and be evil like this? There should be an exception to deactivate for those that have issues.

I had accounts offshore at multiple places Bovada, betonline, betanysports, heritagesports. All obliged and wished me well except for nitrogensports.
Because of things like this I really wish sbr could add them to the sites to avoid list.

What difference does it make? Nitrogen and Crypto sites like Stake, Roobit, Rollbit and many others are anon. If they close your account you can make another one in seconds.

Block the sites from your computer/device if you need.

As you can just click a button and create a new account at Nitro it probably wont help you much, but you could change your password to something random and forget it.

I wasn't trying to be insensitive in my post. But this is what I was getting at. It's so easy at crypto sites to make a new account where them closing it shouldn't really change much for you.

Change password to something random, change email to a bogus email, use an app/gadget to block yourself from the site, etc. But it's still just so easy to make a new account that them closing yours doesn't do much at all.

Download a program like Betblocker that will stop you from gambling on your computer totally.

Nice this works as well as the random password. Anything to reduce, minimize or eliminate the temptation helps.

              Thanks everyone

Just pointing out a irony here, people complaining about sports books that won't deactivate account, while this forum has no option to deactivate account. I wanted to deactivate my brand new account, but there's no option to deactivate account, apparently you have to ask for this here

Seriously? What else should be done for people with no self control?

Bovada sent me the same message when I closed over there.

Over here in Germany, regulated bookies must have a "24 hour break" button on their (afaik main) page, as well as the opportunity to close your account indefinitely or for a self-determined time frame. It's not possible to re-activate the account until this comes to an end.

This is no help in this case of course, but something other countries may consider to introduce in the future as well, at least.

                          Yes you need to ask.

I can do that for you.

Just tell them you’ll take legal action if they don’t permanently ban you from their site it’ll work

And you can ban yourself permanently you can make a new account but not a new verified account these sites require id live verification to cash out so you only can ever have one fully verified account if you permanently close it you can’t make another and if
you somehow did they would be able to legally not pay you out

What legal action could you take? I mean seriously, what a world we live in where people think they can sue a company because they have zero self control. Do fat people sue Mcdonalds because their fat selves eat there every day and sit on their hands the rest of the day, or has that class-action not been set up yet?

Are you dumb? Every legitimate sportsbook has regulations in place for responsible gambling…. You must be autistic or something
