    Payout???
I got this in my email and decided to bet it since I’ve been rolling good lately

Race #9 at Saratoga (New York Stallion Stakes) 5:39 pm ET

The New York-special series hits Saratoga with an assorted mix of sophomore talent – and $150,000 in profits – including latest Belmont-based NY Stallion Stakes winner #8 Dakota Gold (by Danny Gargan, with Irad Ortiz Jr) now listed on top at 3/5 odds. #5 Marinara Sauced (by Chad C. Brown, with Manuel Franco) lands 2nd position with 5/1 odds. #3 Shinsun (by Barclay Tagg, with Luis Saez) and #10 Barrel of Quests (by David G. Donk, with Jose L. Ortiz) commute on 3rd with 8/1.

The bet: $20 Exacta Box ($40 total) with #5 Marinara Sauced & #8 Dakota Gold

    IT WON

I don’t know anything about horse racing but I would think I would of won more. Seems to me only won 100. This seems way to little.

    Appreciate the help

Horse racing results can be checked under results on equibase.com. This exacta 8-5 paid $7.80 for $2, $78 for your $20 bet. Horse racing payouts are always way too little, as a 25% or so commission for exotic bets is huge. Better had you played the tri 8-5-4, which paid $44.00 for $2.

Can someone explain to me this payout?

My picks were: Exacta (3,7,9 /2). I'm betting $25 (for a total of $75 bet). I ended up getting $950. Is this correct? and why?

That is 3,7,9 for the first place and 2 for the second place.

      The race was Penn National / May 16, 2024 / Race 1

Equibase shows an exacta pool of 110,111 and a payout of 153.40 (not sure if this affects my payout)

How would my payout be? (please explain this with care and love)

I'm sorry man, by mistake a copy/pasted the wrong ticket picks.

          My picks for this track/race were: (4,8,10 / 3)

Thank you for takiing the time to reply. Do you mind explaining to me how the payout math calculation would go with those picks (same track and race).

          I appreciate sir

I'm seeing the race / track info results from equibase:

          Thank you in advance.

OK 1976 here you go your ex paid $306.80 for every $2 wagered. you wagered $25 on 8/3 which scored and Paid $306.80 again for every $2 wagered. so you had 12.5 bets X $306.80 = $3835 you should receive. Not sure where they come up with about $950? another way to figure is divide in half the ex payout so $153.40 is paid out for every $1 wagered. so you had $25 on that so 25 X $153.40= $3835.

If you are providing the correct info on the amount wagered then the only reason why you got about $950 is they have a cap on exotics wagering payouts., read the fine lines to see if that pertains to you. Either that or you are getting ripped off. GL.

Thanks Rider. Yes, it's an offshore.

They are actually in the process of reviewing the ticket.

I was thinking it had to do something with the three picks I did for the first place (4, 8, 10), but since my total bet was $75 ($25 for each), the payout math you do makes sense.

There is only one thing I don't understand from your explanation. When you say "so you had 12.5 bets X $306.80 = $3835", could you break down the math on how you get the 12.5 number? I think it has to do with some factorial, but can't get quite get it.

Thanks again man. I appreciate it.

OK divide $25 by 2 = 12.5 so that is number of bets you had if you go by $2 payout for the ex. If you carve up the ex in half then you multiply that number by 25 bets as you are going by a $1 ex payout. I am explaining it a bit rough but hope you catch the drift. Let us know what happens. Nice wager by you. congrats.

in this instance Penn pays out based on a $2 wager. so look at it this way say you bet $2 on 8/3 then you get $306.80. But you had $25 on the 8/3 so divide the $25 by 2 =12.5 ($2)wagers so 12.5($2) wagers X 306.80= $3835.
