Merlin casino: withdrawal canceled for arbitrage betting.
    Hello all,

This bookmaker canceled my withdrawal of €1000 because for them I made arbitrage betting but I didn't even know what that was before today lol
I make a lot of bets on all tennis markets but is this prohibited?
Of course they didn't prove anything to me...
    This is abusive...
    Can you help me ?
    I'm disappointed...
    Thanks a lot

    The email :

Arbitrage betting undermines the integrity of fair play and the enjoyment of our gaming environment. Therefore, we enforce strict policies to prevent such activities.

As a result of this discovery, we regret to inform you that your recent withdrawal request has been cancelled. Furthermore, please be aware that:

Winnings Forfeiture: Any winnings derived from arbitrage betting activities will be forfeited.
Account Review: Continued violation of our terms may result in further actions, including potential account suspension.

How do they know you are betting at other casinos ? Unless they own the other ones too.

They can use the same software bettors do to identify when they are listed as an arb opportunity and flag everyone who bets it at those odds in the right time frame. If someone is arbing only it will be very obvious.

Not that I think this sort of rule is justifiable or fair.

I never have done it but yea they are really not doing anything illegal . It is like card counting . They are mad you are smart enough to give yourself an advantage in a fair way.

                  The following :
Regarding the evidence, it will escalated to the provider of the sportsbook for further evidence, and once we receive it, we'll provide it to you.

And about the other part of the inquiry, the winnings only had to do with one deposit of 100€.

Indeed, you made two deposits for 100€, but to the voided withdrawal, only the last deposit was involved, which was returned already.

sorry to go off-topic a bit, but this quote on their T&C caught me by surprise

"We may take measures to detect and prevent the use of such artificial intelligence software programs using various methods, including reading the list of currently running programs on your computer. This is for also for your safety and safety of others.

first off, can they do that when only logged on their site? I thought it was necessary to surreptitiously install software to do such a thing. I love how they justify doing so as to 'protect the user and other people'. Crazy putting up with this stuff.

EDIT: seems like its impossible, so they are bluffing on this one. But it shows such a perverse, negative attitude towards the player. We are the enemy. So different from investing, even in the scammiest penny stocks. Middle-man gets their cut and doesnt care what happens between the players.

I'm French and I think what they are doing if this is true is an invasion of privacy. and it's against the law...

AI, Technology and bots killed arbitrage business so bad.
They can detect what you're doing with ease.
                          Nobody wants arbers anymore.

                          My advice for arbers,
Guys, this is time to retire or focus on new projects..
