Bet365 Scammed My Money - Please Help
    Hi All,

Hate to have a début post like this but I am in real need of help.

I created a Bet365 account yesterday after my friend referred me and deposited $1000 Australian to start it off. When I had more time later in the afternoon I logged back in to place a multi on some MMA fights and the balance was back to $0.

I looked at the history and it showed a bet for the whole balance had been placed on a football game that was set to happen later that night (probably 5-6 hours later). I immediately got onto their chat and reported it but have been met 3 times now with consultants unwilling to help at all. They just keep referring me. I called their team and some Valerie lady kept saying to me that the account is completely locked until I admit I placed the bet, which I would not do of course because I did not make any bets.

Has this ever happened to anyone? I can't see how my account could have been accessed in that time, none of my co-workers would do something like that. How easy is it to place a bet on their website? Do you need to enter a password to confirm it?

Can my bank do something? They are telling me to call the police but I'm worried that my work will take a dim view of me using my work hours to bet online.

Jamie C has joined this chat.
You are now chatting with Jamie C .

Jamie C Hello, welcome to bet365 live chat. How may I help
you? Please include your four-digit security number if you
want to talk about something specific to your account.

Ben Hi Jamie, security number ****

Ben There was an unauthorised bet of $1000 placed on my
    account sometime today

Ben I need the bet cancelled and refunded

Ben The thing the bet was placed on has not started yet

Jamie C May I please have the bet reference? This can be
located at the top of the bet confirmation within your bet
history and displays in the following format; AB0123456789X.

Ben The odds also seem to still be the same

Jamie C Have you placed this bet incorrectly?

Ben I'm looking for the reference number in my history, can't
    seem to find it

Ben It has the date and time 18/06/2014 09:50:45

Ben sorry Bet C onfirmation - BL7854680410I - Internet Time
    of bet: 18/06/2014 09:50:45

Jamie C Have you placed this bet incorrectl
    y?

Ben No I didn't place the bet, I don't know who did. I'm
assuming it was done on one of my work computers

Ben I will be making a police report tomorrow

Ben The money I deposited was for multi bets on mixed
    martial arts fights

Ben I don't bet on football games

    Jamie C One moment please.

Ben Look, I still want to bet this money through you guys as
I was referred by a friend, I just don't want this ridiculous bet.
Especially seeing as I don't support QLD in the state of origin.
    I support NSW

Jamie C I will be right with you.

Ben I would rather resolve this amicably than call my credit
card company and report the fraud to get the refund

Jamie C I will ensure that any account opened with your
details is closed and will not be reopened again.

Jamie C I will forward your details to our Fraud Department
who will contact you back as soon as possible. In the
meantime, the account will be suspended so no further funds
    can be deposited.

C an I take a contact telephone number so our Fraud
    Department can call you back?

Ben Thank you, I opened the account, it was not opened
fraudulently. There was a bet placed for the entire balance
    that was placed fraudulently

    Ben **********

Jamie C When would it be most convenient to call you back?
If you wish to report the instance to the police, we will be
more than happy to assist with any investigation.

Ben Right now please, I don't want to try and deal with this
after the market closes and this bet begins

Ben Obviously it will then look like I just want a refund
because i lost the bet if it loses

Ben That is not the case, I don't even want to see if it wins or
    loses

Jamie C i can not call you now i have to sent this for review
    to the fraud department.

Ben I need to know immediately if this will be refunded or
not so I can call my bank if necessary

Ben If i cannot find out now I will have to call them

Ben Please refer to someone who can make the call

Jamie C It can not be don immediately as the fraud
department have to review it once this has been done we ill c
contact you it can not be done straight away due to the
    severity of the claim

      No.

If we take your story at face value one of your co workers did this.

Were you logged into the site whilst away from your computer?

Does anyone have the ability to monitor your internet and computer usage?

I don't think you have a good case here

can see it both ways, i can see them being hard nosed and making you stick it out, but at the same time if it was before the start, and well before as you say they should let it slide....word of warning in future....never do refer a friend with any company, you dont know how your friend bets, if he is restricted alot of times you will have a lower limit straight away beings you were referred by a 'sharp' player.....

hopefully it all works out my friend let us know what happens.....

Problem is the bet has lost, if they were going to cancel the bet they would have done so before the game.

Since he claimed fraud they are going to make him follow through with the police report threat, it would have been wiser to claim you meant to bet 100 and asked for them to adjust the bet.

This is the kind of poor service you can expect from a TNC, customer service refuse to actually help you and just follow the protocol.

A more personal service is usually more reasonable.

Bet $3.65 is woeful in this regard, Bet $3.65 and the Euro Sportingbet are the most unreasonable books I've dealt with in the Australian and Euro market.

you spotted this bet before the game so you could've layed on another site and take like 50-100$ loss...that was the easy way out. They will not cancel the bet.

These big books follow the rules as their employees are trained that way

A lot of regulation also so they can start having special cases for special people

Bet 365. Ladbrokes. , William Hill etc. all type flight sports books

Bet365 will quite often void bets if asked, even though this is not in their terms, particularly if the bets has been recently made and the odds are unchanged. They recognise people will bet on the wrong side or with the wrong amount by accident.

However, in this case raising the issue of a unknown fraud closes off this simple option.

                      Nonsense.

SBR downgraded Bet $3.65 to a C when they got off the payroll because they are unreasonable.
