    Prop bet question
Had someone ask me what the general rule is for this and I wasn't sure.

    Over/Under longest reception.

The player played and had multiple targets but no catches.

I told him I would assume his under play was a winner since the player played.

He said the book graded it as no action.

He asked me if that was a real rule or normal rule.

    I told him I didn't know.

Anyone know what the general rule would be on this?

Past experience with this exact wager tells me no action is correct. Because of the word 'reception' in the language, a reception would be needed to activate the wager, and when no reception happens, the wager lays dormant. I believe it isn't comparable to 'O/U number of receptions' because that wager becomes active as soon as the player hits the field as a player can end with 0 receptions.

Whether this is the right or wrong way to grade the wager can be debated but whenever i wager on this prop, I'm wagering under the pretext that there has to be at least one reception.

Pinnacle my primary book says "must play" on the ticket. Stepping on the field would constitute playing, the way I see it anyway. Regardless if a receiver gets targeted, being on the field is playing.

Which player "must play" in a bet on Total Receptions?

Surprised to hear it's no action if zero receptions occur too, but what Cobra_king said does make logical sense.

We'd need to read the book's rules to be certain though.

This is an obvious No Action. It's a bet that's conditioned on a reception occurring. If you think under should win, what was his longest reception? The answer isn't zero. There is no answer.

This is different than total yards, or total points (i.e. the game total) where the answer could be zero.

                This is from pinnacle:

For all American Football Propositions involving receiving yards on first reception or longest reception for a specific player, that player must play for action. Note that if the player plays, but does not have a catch, his first reception yards and longest reception proposition will be graded as zero yards (under is the winner).

You have to ALWAYS look at the fine print...(i.e. has to be targeted, must play, no reception=no action etc.)
If not stated ALWAYS ask before you place ANY bet. Most apps have targeted stats now too, so not hard to find if thats the criteria.
Have accts that have all 3 stipulations in different books
