Caesar's Sportsbook Ontario Stolen Funds

I placed two wagers on Breel Embolo to record three or more shots in his match, for a total of $412 (Soccer: Switzerland vs Scotland – Euro 2024 – June 19, 2024). Breel Embolo did not start the match, but he substituted into the game in the 60th minute, recording only one total shot. Per Caesar’s Sportsbook house rules; “If the selected player does not start the match, wagers placed on that player in that market will be void even if they enter the field of play as a substitute and make over the specified number in that category”

However, my wagers were graded as losses and I did not receive my wagers credited back to my balance. I immediately reached out to customer support to express my concerns on the matter, but support has continuously gone against their own house rules and refused to return my funds.

I suspect that the agent might be misinterpreting the 60th minute substitution as Embolo coming OFF instead of ON to the field due to the colored arrows;

I'd suggest replying to the email pointing out that that it says "Embolo on for Shaqiri" at the 60 min mark.

I would think key here is the message from the support which says "A blurb was shown when placing the wager that states, 'Wagers are action should the player take any part in the match'."

For today's match, for example, this is the case:



This contradicts the soccer rules OP posted, but in Ceasar's house rules it says "Wagering rules and conditions are subject to change; please refer to the odds displays in Retail Sportsbooks or on the Sportsbook application for details. If there is a conflict between a stipulation on the odds display and these House Rules, the stipulation on the odds display will prevail."

So question is: was this already there when the bet was placed?

Looks like this is standard across soccer markets for more than one goal scored at Caesars.

Thanks for your replies. I do believe there is some confusion regarding the presence of this blurb. When I first received the message from the agent stating this point, I immediately went back to the Caesar's app to see if it popped up for me. I took a couple screenshots illustrating the fact the absence of this blurb (see below). I do now see it pops up for all matches, which has caused a lot of confusion. I did speak to someone over the phone last night, who mentioned the development team was in the process of updating the app to ensure all prop markets contained this blurb, so I truly believe it wasn't there for me when I placed the wager.

My apologies, just the follow up on my last message, I should also clarify that I reside in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, which I believe have different house rules than those in the US. That being said, all the screenshots and house rules I have sent you come directly from the Ontario website, which clearly state wagers are voided in the event players do not start a match, as well as the absence of the blurb overriding this rule.

yeah, the rule I quoted above indeed is a bit different in the Ontario rulebook:

"Wagering rules and conditions are subject to change; please refer to the odds displays in Retail Sportsbooks or on the Sportsbook application for details."

But I guess the result is the same: if the blurb wasn't there, soccer rules apply, and it therefor should be a void. Difficult to prove that, of course, but hopefully your screenshots from other matches will help.
