#179We'll never know for sure. What we do know are the types of people involved with their operation. My gut feeling is they were setting up to screw the player, but once SBR got involved and this whole thing became public they decided not to.
Most gamblers have no where to turn, what could he have done about potentially getting stiffed without SBR? Make a random website warning others? Like that would get a lot of hits. Call a lawyer?Comment -

#180Not at all...I wrote it myself and it wasn't even suggested by anyone that I should update the thread with that information. I just thought it was only fair that if I opened this topic, to close it.
If it was noted in their rulebook that all large withdrawals would be accompanied by a security check, I do not think that anyone would feel uncomfortable with a large balance/win from a company that has just proven that they are willing to pay once everything checks out.
Other posters have noted receiving large payouts from BOL without problems or delays. I guess my situation was different because it was through the casino and also because I had just opened the account a few weeks prior.
I am not going to lie, I've been sweating bullets these past 2 weeks, but most people would be when it comes to that much money, regardless of what book / company / site / bank / etc it was with.
The only suggestion I would have for BOL is that they make mention somewhere in their terms that a security check, which may take up to x number of weeks, is standard procedure prior to any payout over x amount. Although one of the first things BOL told me was that this was standard procedure, it would've been comforting to see that it was already stated and to know that my situation was not being handled differently than any other winner.
I would rather deal with a company that needs to take 2 weeks to make sure winnings are legit as oppose to a company that gets burnt by paying out a scammer too quickly and then doesn't have the money to pay the next person in line that played straight forward.
this sounds all too much like a press release from bol. did they write this for you jokerfly?? these guys arn't a bunch of doctors, no way they should have ever made you wait. they pay, THEN they look into the situation to see if something needs fixing. i am surprised i am more upset about this than you. (of course i don't have 40k coming my way) i think after the money arrives you should re evaluate how you have been treated here. they should throw in an extra grand for your inconvenience!Comment -

#182I just received word from BetOnline.com's casino manager (Marshal) that their security check has been completed and that my account has been cleared for a payout. Marshal also informed me that they will be sending out the check for the withdrawal I had requested tomorrow which is also great news and speaks to BOL's efficiency now that their review of my account has been completed.
I hope that in the end, this thread will make for a positive review of BetOnline.com and their ability/willingness to process large payouts. I know their were people on both sides of the fence when this thread was started and hopefully this conclusion has changed the mind of anyone that had doubts about BOL.
The security check BOL needed to do prior to a payout this large was definitely understandable, and even though I have acknowledged that all along, most people in my position would have been losing some sleep due to the amount of money involved.
In conclusion, BetOnline.com is legit and definitely worthy of their "A" rating.
Good to hear you finally got paid. In my strange universe you're still supposed to get paid, and your endorsing this book after it tortured you for two weeks would be translated as relief.Comment -

#183Joker handled the situation very well. He gave the forum updates and explained the situation without the drama and stuck with the facts.
BOL initially wrote us saying the security software picked up the 44 devices and they had never seen that before. They wanted to get answers on that before learning there were programs accessing the software and already paying him. They verified that the other stats on his play looked fine and never gave the impression they didn't plan on cutting this check. I think we helped with communication.
They need to have a better process so they get the good press when a big winner hits. That makes sense for both parties.
Congrats on your win Jokerfly. Any plans to make a purchase?Comment -

.
But this wasnt a standard security check. They believed (or at least suggested) that you were trying to scam them. They said you used 44 computers.
What was that all about. They/you still havent explainedComment -

#185Yeah I am a little curious about the 44 "devices"... There can be a few explanations for that I guess but it would have been nice to get one...

#186There is no question that the publicity, and Mr. Dozer helped get this paid. BOL probably would have paid anyhow, as they are a successful book and have been doing very well, but Jokerfly absolutely made the right decision to start a thread, and contact SBR.
SBR John, you are right that they verify slot jackpots in the casino, but even $200K wins take less than a few hours to verify. In Vegas they have to call in the gaming commission which may take longer, but no way does it take days to get paid. At least that is what I have observed personally - I could be wrong.
There are some advantages of online gaming. I've had casinos tell me after hitting a royal flush that they "have to" pay me in cash. After complaining they somehow change their mind and are able to give a check but I had to come back for it and it was a pain. So at least the online establishments do it electronically. It would be dangerous for jokerfly to be walking around with $40K in cash.
Jokerfly, you have a lot of patience. I would not have been patient with BOL more than a few days, and I would certainly be asking for the full $70K, plus my high roller bonus and not leaving $30K in there. I need to learn to have more patience like you. I am very biased on the side of the player. Shamswoof10 is right - I would never be allowed on a jury.Last edited by louis; 11-16-07, 12:17 PM.Comment -

#188We would be speculating to say that he would not have gotten paid (assuming the check gets there) without SBR... It may sound that way but we certainly do not know if it would have turned out that way...
Personally I don't really know but I have no reason to speculate either way... I mean to say they would not have paid without SBR's help may qualify as a "conspiracy theory"...

#189Of course we can't definitively state that, but it is my gut feeling given the people involved with them. If you or whoever feels comfortable playing there, I won't be outside picketing against it. I just won't be playing there.Comment -

#190We have found that the large sportsbooks with casinos do not fully understand all the security checks and breaches compared to a big casino-only type operation. They focus on their sportsbook and most are bookmaker types.
During this dispute i was reminded by our staff on several cheat breaches against the DGS blackjack in the past. But not the version BOL is dealing.
Those that want to pass on BOL for whatever reason thats perfectly fine. They are not an A+ book or even an A just yet.Comment
