Instadebit Fraud - I'm out $1000 CAD and $580 USD
    Hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone ever had Instadebit Fraud happen to them before. From my research, it appeared that as a Canadian resident, Instadebit is probably the safest payment processor after credit cards. So as a result, after a couple cashouts from sportsbooks, I was not in a hurry to transfer the money back to my bank account.

Long story short, as of yesterday I had $5000 USD and $3000 CAD on my Instadebit balance.

I log in today and notice $1000 CAD and $580 USD missing. Furious and shocked, I immediately checked transaction histories. 3 different transactions were made today: $1000 CAD deposit to Bet365 and $580 in 2 separate transactions to Full Tilt Poker.

I don't have accounts with either FullTilt or Bet365.

I have forwarded this matter to Instadebit's security department for investigations but this is how I feel right now: If this kind of things can happen on Instadebit, what are we safe from?

P.S. FYI: I only log in from home, and have a strong password if that helps. Gonna scan the computer for virus/trojans/spywares now. What a crappy day

Have you contacted Bet365? If not, I would do so. Posters here (mainly European) have complained before about their stringent security requirements before they'll allow you to take a payout (address confirmation, mailed PIN numbers, etc.), so they ought to have clear records showing into whose account that deposit was paid.

Then either they should refund Instadebit or, if you can get them to give you a letter saying that the money was not deposited by you into your account, Instadebit should refund you. Which needs to happen depends on Instadebit's rules on liability for fraud.

Luckily they didn't take more out and to different books. How would a fraudster make out here? It seems that the only reason is to just F with you. They wouldn't be able to profit from it. Would they? The deposit would have to go back to the ID account and winnings could be taken out, but it would be a different name. Who knows. It seems like if this is a valid claim these books and ID will refund you.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts guys, I will contact FullTilt and Bet365 now. Yes, I suppose it could have been worse, they couldve used up all my existing Instadebit balance of $5K USD and $3k CDN and then tap into my weekly limit of 1.25k of CDN currency.

I just have no idea how someone cracked my account and password. This is Instadebit after all, not some no name money processor with poor reputation. Good thing I check my Instadebit account often - often daily (don't ask me why i know it's weird lol) and I caught it so soon).

No virus/trojans on my computer. My password is pretty strong too so I'm out of ideas how anyone could've cracked it.

So basically I have contacted FullTilt Poker AND Bet365. They told me just to refer the matter to Instadebit as there is apparently an official protocol with regards to fraudulent deposit investigations.

I got my fingers crossed and awaiting (hopefully) good results.

I just got a reply back from Instadebit saying after investigating the matters, they found no error with their systems. They have contacted the merchants and have credited me for my misfortune. However, the only thing they can tell me is to change my password frequently. That sucks because I asked them to see if it was possible to put in some blocks like

                        1. Specific merchant allowance, block everything else - no can do
                        2. IP block - dont think so

Guess I'm gonna have to change my password every week now which is gonna be a pain in the buttocks.

Make sure you have unique passwords for any site that could cost you money. Did you share PWs with any other site.
