Ladbrokes suspended my account- No reason, no explanation given..
I am writing in regards to GBP150 I deposited with Ladbrokes for online sports betting. After I did this and placed some bets, they suspended my account. There was no email send notifying me of this or any warning I was just not able to log into my account again. I called them up and asked them what happened and they said I used a third party credit card which did not have my name on it.

Now, I can understand if this may be a problem, but firstly they should not have accepted the credit card, secondly they should have notified me of the problem and asked me to resolve the matter, and thirdly if this was a problem they should have just returned the money to the credit card. However they did nothing of the sort and are just holding my money with no explanation no nothing.

I have called them on 4 occasions so far to try and resolve this matter and each time they say they will send me an email with the necessary documents I need to fill in to unsuspended my account, but as of now I have still not received anything and I am getting worried they are just going to be holding my money indefinitely.

On my third call to them I asked to speak to the supervisor (Mr. Kunal) and he refused to speak to me until I send in the documentations. I tried to explain that that was exactly the reason I wanted to speak with him so I know what documentation to send, but they just shrugged me off and the operator I spoke to (Chris) promised he would send the necessary documents requests within the hour.

Well, needless to say I am still waiting and still nothing and my money is still being held by them.

I am new to online betting, but from what I understand, Ladbrokes is one of the bigger online betting sites, so I wouldnt have expected this kind of behavior and terrible customer service from them... has anybody had a similar experience? Can anyone suggest what I should do?

badabing, shot you an e-mail with the same info, but just in case you check here first...

Forwarded your e-mail to the right folks here at SBR, and they are reviewing the complaint at this time. If you could, please fill out the COMPLAINT FORM as that might help expedite the matter.

    Good luck.

That must be exasperating. We're trying to contact Ladbrokes, and find out what gives.

Any help would be appreciated. I am not sure if Ladbrokes are just being incompetent or if there are more devious reasons for them not wanting me to get my money back, but needless to say this whole episode has put me completely off online betting thats for sure...

I tried to complain with the IBAS about Ladbrokes, but it seems they also are not really interested in solving this matter. I thought they were supposed to control these online casinos so they dont rip people like myself off, but I guess they are "in the pockets" of the casino's and its not in their interest to help the players.

If this is indeed the case, I fear this is a dangerous situation where the online casino's can do what ever they want to who ever they want to. If I knew this beforehand I would have never started with this whole business.

IBAS have a formal process to go through, and thus whilst they usually will help, they will do it much slower than somewhere like SBR, as SBR have nobody to report to etc..

It does state in ladbrokes terms and conditions that the account holder has to be the cardholder when registering a bank card
