From what I can recall First Fiedlty never really advertised on the forums at all because it wasn't really their marketing direction however, they are a very good book from the recreational player and it's a quality book from a safety of funds standpoint sir.

It's a fine book. They haven't changed much over the years and haven't really taken advantage of the internet business. They are one of the best at player retention with the old school phone guys. YW have been rated B since 2006. That includes the time last year where they did pay and were on the forum. We'd welcome them on the forum again.

I actually was not aware they were on the forum at all last year. Then again I wasn't working within the industry for 2+ years either. I do remember back in the day during my first tenure they had quite a few new signups at BetPop which I'm sure they were quite pleased with. So needless to say it was a profitable venture for them and now that I'm back I feel it would be again if they were decide to give it another go around.

Prices vary between sportsbooks. I hear the asking price for WSEX to get back their A+ rating was more than what they owe their players.

Who called you was an ass, and was just using a sales tactic to turn you negative around, I have a good idea of who it was and I'll speak to her boss.
Lastly, I know some of you will call BS here but in my experience (and I'm sure in every other case) SBR doesn't take money for ratings.

I'll call BS. Money does influence SBR ratings (ie BetPhoenix, Betonline). Lack of money sent SBR's way thru advertising also is a factor. Name one non-SBR advertiser, which is a US facing Book that is A rated. None that I know of, but Heritage (B+) is close. Yet Heritage is purposely kept below the A level. A Books have to pay a fee to keep and maintain their grade. It's hardly a secret.

I figured out the solution to slow or stop the cold calls. Every time they call, sound excited about what ever bullshit bonus they are talking about and say you will do a p2p transfer. Get a receivers name and all is good. Sure they will be calling back but just say you forgot the name and get another one. These names cost them money so just keep doing it and eventually they will catch on. First Fidelty are scum. I cant promise this will work as I am in the process of trying it out but if enough people do it they will stop the nonsense.

Also note they use spoof dialing so the number shows different every time. They also will use numbers from your local area code. They are good, and if you call the number back it is out of service. I Highly recommend you google some of the numbers. A bunch of people bitching about youwager out there.

FACT...no matter how GREAT a book is and always has been, if they are NOT lining SBR pockets, they wont see a rating above B...thats just part of it, not really suprising to me, and i guarntee u SBR higher up wont and cant deny that

Can you name that many good books that take US customers other than the A's and B's? There a few ratings I disagree with? Sure, but then again some people would say yw is an F and others an A, but what just about everyone can agree with is that Bookmaker, and 5dimes are about as good as it gets for US guys now, they don't need to pay for a rating cause everyone already knows the deal. When I look at the SBR rating list there isn't much I find fault with. If money was a huge part of the ratings all the new books this season on top of the forum would be A's, but their not.

I'm not saying the ratings are horribly off, just slanted toward ad revenue. For example, BetPhoenix and Betonline should never have been B+ Books, basically C Books that bought an inflated grade. 5Dimes is just a solid B Book, too many complaints recently to be an A Book IMO--but no way will you see a downgrade as long as that monthly check cashes. Meanwhile a non-adveriser like Heritage can go no higher than B+, but easily an A Book to most. In fact, when A+ Books Greek and BetJam left the US market, who did they trust with to pay off their clients--Heritage. Apparently they felt Heritage was worthy of their A+ business, but not SBR. Why is that?

My point is that it's a bit naive to think ad money has no bearing on ratings.

I'm just telling you my experience with SBR, we've tried twice to be up in the banner pool. However, we have two different business models and it just never worked out. Our rating never changed when we went up or came down. I've had a few different meetings with the SBR guys, not once was money ever mentioned as a tool to boost our rating. I know this is a shady industry but in regards to SBR for me our yw it just wasn't like that. Also, when you have a ton of customers you're going to have a higher number of complaints, especially when SBR is a big part of your customer base like 5dimes. Other than the semi-regular SBG sucks or stole my money posts, there doesn't seem to be a ton of issues with them on the board here. I assume it's because the avg SBR poster doesn't play their because of what they've read in the news feed and on the board. Yet, they're huge. Football season=more customers=more complaints. I doubt 5dimes has really dropped off that much in the last few months. As for Heritage, correct me if I'm wrong here but up until this year they were invite only. Kinda, tough to rate someone as the best, when they pick and choose who they let in IMO.
SBR might put up the banners of those books that give the greatest return, but I don't think the rating is a reflection of that for the most part. Or, at least in yw's case it wasn't at all.

bottom line is books like BOL are ONLY rated B becuase they pay SBR..period....look at all the problems that SBR is more than happy to start a big thread about, but have u seen 1 mod thread by bbd or any SBR employee about all the BOL complaints with payment delays?? short anwser is NO, because they line SBR pockets.BUT when the same bullshit payment complaints happen at the books that DONT advertise here its posted everywhere.thats just the way it works and those who think it isnt are flat out blind the the real world

You think if BOL is having problems paying their customers (which I don't know if it's true or not), you think they're handing over the loot so quick to SBR. Call me jaded, but it takes a bit more than a few forum posts to think something is really an issue. This is the internet, people make shit up all the time, maybe not this time but it happens. Guys love joining a good 'ole gang bang with comments of "me too" when they don't even have an account there. Again, I'm not saying anyone is BS'ing, but I've been around long enough not to believe everything/everyone I read on a gambling forum.

Look guys - C.S. is a straight shooter and is giving you valuable insight from a respected book's perspective. He doesn't pull punches, and he calls it like he sees it. Give the guy some respect for commenting on an issue where he really has no dog in the fight.

HedgeHog right on the money. As for FF and friends they've been good outs for a long time, dependable on payouts (although not geared toward professional play) but definitely one of the more consistent books in the last decade or so. The cold calling has been part of it forever, it will be going forward as well. That's probably the only bad thing most would say about this place.

Exactly. Nobody is going to say MONEY is the only criteria this site uses, the ratings overall aren't grossly out of whack. However it would be pretty naive to think money is not part of the equation.

I agree 100% sir.

C.S. is a very straight shooter and that Saturday night when their site crashed he provided a very detailed description on what exactly happen which is more than I can say for most books out there would ever do. Now what I felt was more impressive was the fact the way FF took care of their players for that inconvenience, now that's a class operation IMO.
