List of tennis betting rules by sportsbook.
I did a search and could not find a thread listing the basic tennis betting rules per book.

Anyway, I'm trying to work out where I should spread my limited funds during 2013 and having a good set of available tennis rules between my books is one consideration. So I thought as I am doing it for myself anyway, I would start a simple list that others might add to over time.

    Book: 5Dimes
ML bets: 1 set must complete.
    Sides/Totals: Match must complete.
    Props: Match must complete.
Comments: No consideration for natural completion (same as most books). ie: An Ov20 bet and match ends 7-6 2-2 (which is guaranteed to win if the match goes to a natural completion by that stage) will be void under the match must complete rule. Prop bets that had already 'won' are also void on a retirement.

    Book: Bet365
    ML bets: Match must complete.
Sides/Totals: Same as ML unless the bet would have won had the match been completed normally.
    Props: Same as Sides/Totals.
Comments: They consider how the match would have naturally completed if played out. eg: An Ov20 bet on a match that ends 7-6 2-2 is paid as a winner.

    Book: Betfair
ML bets: 1 Set must complete.
Sides/Totals: Match must complete unless market has already been settled.
    Props: Various.
    Comments:

    Book: Uwin
ML bets: 1 Point played for action.
Sides/Totals: Bets are void unless settlement/result of the bet has already been determined.
    Props: Various
Comments: Useful set of rules makes them a must have for me.

    Book: BetCRIS
    ML bets: Match must complete.
    Sides/Totals: Match must complete.
    Props: Match must complete.
Comments: Bets that had already won are void on a retirement.

    Book: Pinnacle
ML bets: 1 Set must complete.
    Sides/Totals: Match must complete.
    Props: Match must complete.
Comments: Bets that had already won are void on a retirement. A "Pro Set" also voids all bets apart from the ML.

    Book: Legends
ML bets: 2 Sets must complete.
    Sides/Totals: Not offered.
    Props: Not offered.
Comments: Money lines on all Grand Slam events from quarter finals through finals only.

    I'll probably ad some more myself until I decide on the 1 more book I want, but please help out and add your book if you have time;

    Book:
    ML bets:
    Sides/Totals:
    Props:

I did for the end of NASCAR season last year then withdrew. Free wire payout came in 2 or 3 days. They have good odds and move them slow for NASCAR. I like everything about them so far. Still deciding what to deposit where but they are one I'm keen to try with some tennis bets soon.

U win sounds like the book to bet if you know about a player being hurt, and trying to give it a go anyway...

Good stuff, to bad I cant bet at half those books..

Should be interesting to see the weather forecast for the Australian open, last year I remember there were some days in the 95 degrees range (35 degrees C).

Full match sides/totals are match completed pretty much everywhere. It's sometimes not always clearly worded, they refer to "already settled", but that usually means first set handicap/totals, not full match.

Keep in mind that Extreme Heat Policy the Australian uses, officials will close the roofs of the Laver and Hisense arenas and turn on the air conditioning but the on going sets must first be completed, at least one set. Does anybody remember 2009, it was like 110 degrees.

I think there is 3 main ways the seem to go.

                    1) If the side/total prop has already won/lost it's paid, but void otherwise. ie: Over 20 with match ending 7-6 6-7 1-0 is paid as a winning but in a match ending 7-6 3-3 the bet is voided.

                    2) If the side/total/prop would have won if the match ended naturally it is settled as a winner/loser. ie: the 7-6 3-3 situation above would be graded a win despite only 19 games having been played.

                    3) They void everything on retirement. ie: Over 20 with match ending 7-6 6-7 1-0 is voided despite 27 games having been played.

                      Sportingbet Australia:
ML bets: Match has to be completed.
Sides/Totals: Needs to be completed unless the total has already been exceeded.
Props: Void unless the outcome is determined ie 1st set winner
Comments: None willing to make publicly any more.

                      Centrebet Australia:

                      ML bets: Void
Sides/Totals: Void unless the total has already exceeded the number
Props: First Set and Set score, set needs to be complete. Sets total: Ball needs to be served in final set (either 3rd or 5th) for bet to stand. Most aces or most dfs... must be complete match.
                      Comments: See above.

That's a very useful list. Thanks Jnic. Sure it's not completely up to date but really helped me work out what I am missing from my tennis books.

I don't have one that offers Set Handicaps at all.

From that list this set of books offer the features I want.

                          Gamebookers
                          Paddy Power
                          PartyBets
                          Prono
                          SkyBet
                          Unibet
                          Bet-at-Home
                          Sportingbet
                          SportsBet

Anyone able to point to one of those and say "I have had a great experience betting tennis there"?

Motorsport, NASCAR and F1, is my main other consideration in choosing a book.

Im looking at odds for even match Soeda vs Giraldo at Bet-at-home has -125/ -125 if you know what I mean where 5dimes would have -110/ -110 for even matchups. Sportingbet has -120/-120.Unibets odds look good though, they have -114/-111 for the Soeda v Santi match

Ran into an issue with Sports Interaction, their posted rule states:

                                  • Where markets are offered on games or sets within a match, a walkover, retirement or disqualification during a game or set will render bets on that game or set market void unless the market has had a conclusive result prior to retirement.

I read this as not referring to ML bets, but rather bets on "games or sets within a match", i.e. totals or bets on specific games/sets. However, they voided my ML bet on Wawrinka over Djokovic due to retirement. They do have a specific rule for live betting that states ML bets are voided.

ML bets cannot have a conclusive result unless the match is completed. So are void by that rule wording as I read it.

But is a ML bet a bet on "games or sets within a match"? The rule only refers to bets on "that game or set market" being voided. I don't consider a ML bet a bet on a game or set within a match market.

Their live betting rule clearly states that for live betting, in the event of a player retiring while a match is in progress, all bets on "which player will win the match" will be deemed no action.

So if their policy is to void all ML bets if there is a retirement, why not state it clearly like they do for live betting?

                                        Oh I see.

I have not looked but there is probably an all encompassing rule somewhere in their terms to say matches must complete for action unless otherwise stated in individual sport rules.

They have a general rule that says "Unless otherwise specified, if an event does not play to its conclusion, results are considered official after completion of...", and then goes through football, basketball, etc. There is no specific mention of tennis, but there is a listing for "Other Sports."

For "Other Sports", it says "Unless otherwise specified in the individual sports' rules, sports that involve a scheduled length of play or time limit must play to their conclusion or have five minutes or less of the scheduled playing time remaining when the contest concludes to be considered official for betting purposes."

Does tennis have a "scheduled length of play or time limit"? That could be argued either way, but when I asked about why my bet was voided, they relied on the tennis rule that refers to "games or sets within a match."

No, that does not fit tennis. Not a timed sport.

I had a quick look and agree there is nothing specific and clear re ML bets on the full match.

It's fairly heavily implied it's match complete or void though, and there is nothing in there at all that could be suggested to mean there is a 1 set rule or anything less than a complete match for action.

Although that's technically a bit ambiguous, I don't think you are going to get a win grading based on that argument as there is no wording there to backup the grading you want

                                              FYI, further update on this:

"I'm happy to inform you that our Lines Management Team has gone ahead and paid your bet out for the win. They agree that our rules do not specify retirements in this scenario. The rules are being updated presently, so that it is clear that all antepost tennis bets will be voided in the event of a player retiring."

Sports Interaction has now updated the rules to state:

In the event of a walkover, disqualification, or retirement, all pre-match bets are void.

5Dimes is still 1 set for ML but one of their third party providers "Sports Betting Prime" must be full match completed
