Player movement is now a massive part of the NFL offseason and, in 2022, some impact players have moved on to new teams. While a lot of the movement was focused on wide receivers, but the biggest move of the offseason involved the trade of a star quarterback.

Here is a look at five impact players that will be playing with new teams to start the 2022 NFL season:

Russell Wilson

When a star quarterback moves, the football world is shaken. Suddenly, the Seattle Seahawks are cast adrift, looking for an answer at the most important position, and the Denver Broncos have addressed that position with the trade to acquire 33-year-old Russell Wilson.

In his last seven seasons with the Seahawks, Wilson started 110 games and averaged 3,872 passing yards, 31 touchdowns, and nine interceptions per season. Wilson ran for a career-low of 183 yards in 2021 but had run for more than 300 yards in eight of the previous nine seasons. He has finished in the Top 5 of the AP Offensive Player of the Year voting three times.

Wilson’s arrival in Denver ought to improve the production of Broncos wide receivers Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, and Tim Patrick. On the reverse side, Wilson’s departure from Seattle will naturally raise concerns about whether Seahawks wide receivers D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett will continue to produce at such a high level.

There is sufficient hype around Wilson entering the 2022 season, enough that he is a contender for NFL MVP, priced +1400 on both DraftKings Sportsbook and FanDuel Sportsbook, and +1600 on Caesars Sportsbook.

Denver’s win total ranges from 10 at Caesars and DraftKings, to 10.5 at FanDuel, while Seattle’s win total is 5.5 at DraftKings and FanDuel but 6 at Caesars.

Davante Adams

One of the premier wide receivers in the game, Adams has played 57 games in the past four seasons, averaging 108 catches for 1,328 yards and 12 touchdowns per season with the Green Bay Packers. He obviously had the benefit of playing with Aaron Rodgers as his quarterback, but Adams did his part to enhance Rodgers’ production, too.

The 29-year-old is an elite route-runner and his trade to the Las Vegas Raiders will reunite him with Derek Carr, who was his quarterback in college at Fresno State. With Adams joining the Raiders, it would seem likely that Hunter Renfrow would be the receiver most likely to see fewer targets. Last season, Renfrow had 103 catches for 1038 yards and nine touchdowns on 128 targets.

Expected to be a focal point of the Raiders offense, Adams is priced at +1200 on DraftKings and +1600 on FanDuel to win AP Offensive Player of the Year.

Tyreek Hill

When the Kansas City Chiefs shockingly traded Hill to the Miami Dolphins, it was a move involving one of the most explosive playmakers in the league.

In his last five seasons with the Chiefs, Hill appeared in 75 games and averaged nearly 84 catches for 1,207 yards and 10 touchdowns per season. Naturally, as part of an explosive Chiefs offense, Hill reaped the rewards of playing with quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Moving to Miami does present a challenge for Hill, in that Dolphins quarterback Tua Taigovailoa is still developing as he heads into his third pro season. It is reasonable to expect that Hill is not going to have the same kinds of opportunities that were available to him in Kansas City.

From the Chiefs’ perspective, they will try to make up for Hill’s departure with free agent additions JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling plus second-round pick Skyy Moore.

If he gets quality quarterback play in Miami, Hill could have a shot to win AP Offensive Player of the Year and is priced at +4000 on DraftKings and +5000 on FanDuel.

A.J. Brown

The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to take a step forward this season and made a big trade to acquire 24-year-old wide receiver A.J. Brown from the Tennessee Titans. Brown will join second-year wideout DeVonta Smith to give third-year quarterback Jalen Hurts some major offensive weapons.

In three seasons with Tennessee, Brown appeared in 43 games and averaged 62 catches for 998 yards and eight touchdowns per season, all while playing in an offense that was more geared to the running game with Derrick Henry.

Brown might be a relative longshot when it comes to winning AP Offensive Player of the Year, as he is priced at +8000 on DraftKings and +7500 on FanDuel. But his presence also gives Hurts a chance to elevate his game among the elite quarterbacks.

Hurts is priced at +1800 on DraftKings, +2500 on FanDuel, and +3000 on Caesars to win the AP Most Valuable Player Award.

Allen Robinson

A 28-year-old wide receiver coming off a season in which he had 38 catches for 410 yards and just one touchdown? That’s an impact player?

In the case of Allen Robinson, yes. Injuries limited Robinson to 12 games last season and poor quarterback play in Chicago limited everything else. But in 2020, Robinson had 102 catches for 1,250 yards, the third 1,000-yard season of his career.

Now, he joins the Los Angeles Rams, effectively taking over the spot that was held by Odell Beckham Jr. on the Rams’ run to the Super Bowl who in turn was taking over for an injured Robert Woods. With Cooper Kupp likely to draw plenty of attention from opposing defenses, there is an opportunity for Robinson to put up huge numbers on this Rams’ attack.

Robinson is a longshot to win the AP Offensive Player of the Year and is priced at +6000 on DraftKings and +10000 on FanDuel. His presence will help quarterback Matthew Stafford, who is a contender for AP Most Valuable Player priced at +1500 on DraftKings +1400 on FanDuel, and +1600 on Caesars.
