Deshaun Watson's MVP Odds Move After Decision by Grand Jury

First Aaron Rodgers, then Russell Wilson, next Carson Wentz. The quarterback carousel was abuzz last week, and this coming week will surely be the same, with the new NFL year starting Wednesday at 4 pm EST.
Friday saw a grand jury decline to indict Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson after an investigation from lawsuits filed by 22 women who accused Watson of harassment and sexual assault stemming from massage incidents.
Following the grand jury's decision, Watson had this to say:"It's definitely a very emotional moment for me. I know we're far from being done of handling what we need to handle on the legal side, but today is definitely a big day," Watson, speaking to reporters for the first time in over a year, said at a news conference outside his lawyer's office building. "I thank my lord and savior Jesus Christ for letting the truth be heard. And I thank everyone that was a part of this for seeing and hearing both sides. That's what my point and my team wanted to do, is have a fair slate of us telling our side of the story and letting the conclusion come to what happened today, and that's what the grand jury decided on.
"I'm just going to keep fighting to rebuild my name and rebuild my appearance in the community. And on the legal side handle what we need to handle. But also ready to get on the field, and prep for that."

Rumors have already started about his next destination.
ESPN is reporting that the Carolina Panthers are prepared to make an 'aggressive offer' to acquire the quarterback. The Panthers have Sam Darnold and Cam Newton on the depth chart. DraftKings has the Panthers at +6000 currently to win the Super Bowl.

Conflicting reports had Watson and the Pittsburgh Steelers as a potential destination, but reports suggests the Steelers will not pursue a deal. Last season, the Dolphins were in hot pursuit, but that idea is over.

Watson, who last played for the Texans in the 2020 season, tossed for 4,823 yards that year with 33 touchdowns. He's a talent when on the field, thus his MVP odds moving Friday following the grand jury news.
