Kentucky's legal sports betting progress

Governor Andy Beshear signed the Kentucky sports betting bill into law on March 31, 2023. This law allows both online and retail sports betting in the state. Online sports betting will start at 6 a.m. ET on September 28. Residents can pre-register starting August 28, ensuring they're ready to bet when the system goes live. Account funding begins on September 7, aligning with the launch of retail sports betting.

The new law permits nine retail sportsbook locations, matching the number of horse racing tracks in Kentucky. These locations can offer in-person betting services starting September 7, 2023. Each racetrack can partner with three mobile sports betting providers.

DraftKings Sportsbook steps into the Kentucky spotlight with a pre-live offer in anticipation of the legal online launch on Sept. 28. Follow these steps to claim your pre-live bonus. Here's how to claim the DraftKings Kentucky promo code:

  3. Follow the instructions to provide your personal information, like your name, address, and birthdate.
  4. After signing up and verifying your identity, deposit and place a minimum bet of $5 on any market. Online deposits start on September 7.
  5. Once your initial bet is settled, you'll receive $200 in bonus bets and any cash winnings from your original bet.
  6. Remember, your first bet of $5+ qualifies you for the bonus.
