BetMGM released the latest movements, highest ticket and handle percentages and their biggest liabilities for the NFL MVP Award.

It’s worth highlighting that a quarterback has won the award in each of the past nine seasons and only once since 2007 has a non-quarterback won. Running back Adrian Peterson was named MVP in 2012.

It’s notable that quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Trey Lance are the only two players who have seen their NFL MVP Award odds change since BetMGM released the betting prop.

Obviously, Wilson’s relocation to Denver created a notable shake up for his 2022 outlook, and a big reason why his ticket and handle percentages are so high.

The case for Lance is a little more interesting.

However, prospective future shoppers might have seen the potential for a longshot given the favorable supporting cast surrounding Lance. Plus, San Francisco is +1300 to win Super Bowl LVII, so there’s still a notable disparity between Lance’s MVP odds and the 49ers’ championship number.

Considering quarterback Aaron Rodgers has won the award in consecutive seasons, it is a little surprising to see his ticket and handle percentages so low. One explanation could be the offseason question marks looming, but now that he’s set to return to the Green Bay Packers for the 2022 campaign, he’s a candidate to see an uptick in wagers. Rodger’s odds could also dip as a result.

Expect to see quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert, Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson to remain popular among MVP bettors.
