After requesting a trade from the Brooklyn Nets last week, Kevin Durant’s odds of remaining with the franchise for the 2022-23 NBA Season have been cut in half since yesterday at DraftKings Sportsbook.

Durant is now +400 to stick with the Nets after being +800 on Monday.

The Suns remain the betting favorite to be Durant’s next team, and the Raptors have the second shortest number.

However, they’ve both seen their odds climb, whereas the Nets have shrunk.

Durant is under contract, after all, and Brooklyn has no obligation to meet his trade demands.

Additionally, ESPN Senior NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, and Senior NBA Insider for The Athletic Shams Charania have been particularly quiet on the Durant trade news front.

As a result, there are a few angles to consider based on the updated odds from DraftKings.

First, the longer the Nets hold off trading the star forward, the higher the likelihood Durant sticks with the Nets.

Additionally, shortening the odds that Durant’s next team will be Brooklyn might also be the result of the betting handle placed at the sportsbook, and the bookmakers wanting to take more action on other teams to balance their liability in the market.

Of course, the answer likely lies somewhere in the middle, as we all speculate where Durant will end up and how it will impact the futures odds for this year’s NBA Championship.
