BetMGM's latest presidential election odds update paints a fascinating picture of how bettors are approaching the race with less than two weeks remaining until Election Day.

BetMGM reported earlier this week that it has seen a near-even split in betting tickets between Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump, but that Trump continues to see the majority of the overall betting handle despite his odds shifting into comfortable favorite territory.

The Donald Trump odds across the board have moved back to where they were just as Harris was first expected to be the Democratic replacement for current president Joe Biden. Meanwhile, the Kamala Harris odds have rocketed in the opposite direction as a growing number of polls suggest major movement in the Republicans' favor in key battleground states (trends reflected in the shifting presidential odds by state, as well.)

According to BetMGM PR manager John Ewing, Harris has an ever-so-slight 51% edge in total wagers on the site since Oct. 1, with Trump at 49%. However, Trump bets represent a whopping 77% of the handle compared with just 23% for Harris. The two candidates are the only options left in the market.

All of the top political betting sites in Canada face major Trump liability, with Stake reporting that Trump was responsible for as much as 93% of the total market handle prior to Biden's withdrawal. And while the emergence of Harris as a rock-solid replacement has shifted some of the money to the Democrats, the gap is still quite large.

Political betting sites haven't revealed how much handle they're seeing overall, or how the bets are divided up across some of the secondary markets.
