We liked the Over on Thursday when it was still up at 52 or 52.5, and we’re not changing our tune Friday now that the number is moving in our favor.
While overlooking the performance of these defenses could be dangerous, I don’t want to ignore the 80.1 combined scoring average for these two offenses. The Irish have not scored fewer than 31 points in a game since mid-September.
DraftKings has lowered the total to 51, while our other best sportsbooks have set it at 51.5. I'm also using this play as part of my college football playoff parlay picks.
Love Over 81.5 rushing yards (-120) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Although both run defenses in this game have been dominant, Notre Dame hasn’t endured any issues establishing the run against other run defenses that were good on paper. Jeremiyah Love erupted for 130 yards on seven rushing attempts against Army.
Despite rarely being a volume workhorse, Love has cleared this rushing line six times on the season and in each of his last three games. His explosiveness (7.1 yards per carry) allows him to rack up significant totals without insane volume, but he could see an uptick in carries on Friday amid a chilly evening in South Bend.
The line of Over 81.5 rushing yards at DraftKings is more appealing than the 84.5 at FanDuel.

Rourke Over 224.5 passing yards (+170) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Notre Dame boasts one of the top statistical pass defenses in college football this season. But Curt Cignetti and Kurtis Rourke could see blood in the water come Friday after the Fighting Irish allowed a whopping 360 yards through the air to USC in their final regular-season game.
Rourke is no stranger to passing volume after clearing 250 yards seven times this season. We’re taking a more aggressive alternate line for Rourke’s passing yardage to boost our overall parlay odds, with Over 224.5 yards at +170 odds from DraftKings.
