After Delaware State missed its flight to Hawaii for Saturday's game, a hurricane may now get in the way of it actually being played. College football's quirkiness is back.

Despite the bizarre circumstances around Week 0, the biggest college football season in history is set to begin this Saturday with four games involving FBS programs. And we're using the top college football betting sites to look at our college football Week 0 odds and predictions.

It all begins overseas on Aug. 24 at noon ET and won't end until the wee hours of Aug. 25, 7,000-plus miles away in Honolulu - assuming the Hornets do actually play against the Rainbow Warriors.

It may only be Week 0, but there is a college football championship odds contender taking the field with Florida State playing Georgia Tech.

The Seminoles head to Dublin, Ireland for the first game of the college football season, with Heisman Trophy odds dark horse DJ Uiagalelei leading the way against the Yellow Jackets.

Florida State isn't the only potential championship contender playing, either. Montana State is one of the top teams by the FCS championship odds, and SMU is a popular College Football Playoff odds sleeper.

No. 10 Florida State vs. Georgia Tech odds

  • When: Aug. 24 (noon ET)
  • Where: Aviva Stadium (Dublin, Ireland)
  • How to watch: ESPN
  • Moneyline: Florida State (-440) | Georgia Tech (+340)
  • Spread: Florida State -10.5 (-108) | Georgia Tech +10.5 (-112)
  • Total: 55.5 (-110/-110)

On paper, Georgia Tech should be better in its second full season under Brent Key after going 7-6 last season. But opening with Florida State overseas is a tough way to start the year. If the Seminoles live up to expectations in Mike Norvell's fifth season, this should be a blowout win and the spread could balloon to -11.5 by kickoff.

Montana State vs. New Mexico odds

  • When: Aug. 24 (4 p.m. ET)
  • Where: University Stadium (Albuquerque, N.Mex.)
  • How to watch: FS1
  • Moneyline: Montana State (-550) | New Mexico (+410)
  • Spread: Montana State -13.5 (-112) | New Mexico +13.5 (-108)
  • Total: 54.5 (-110/-110)

It's rare to see an FCS program favored by so much on the road against an FBS team. However, Montana State is a Big Sky power and has a star QB in Tommy Mellott. Meanwhile, New Mexico hasn't won more than four games since 2016. It's going to be a long rebuild for Bronco Mendenhall, and I think this line could be more than two touchdowns when the Bobcats take the field in Albuquerque.

SMU vs. Nevada odds

  • When: Aug. 24 (8 p.m. ET)
  • Where: Mackay Stadium (Reno, Nev.)
  • How to watch: CBSSN
  • Moneyline: SMU (-2800) | Nevada (+1300)
  • Spread: SMU -24.5 (-110) | Nevada +24.5 (-110)
  • Total: 55.5 (-110/-110)

This is the rich vs. the poor with SMU being one of the most well-resourced programs in the country and Nevada being one of the worst. The Mustangs have several NFL talents on their roster and will be looking to make a statement as they move into the ACC. Given the Wolf Pack have a new head coach in Jeff Choate, I don't expect this line to move in their direction.

Delaware State vs. Hawaii odds

  • When: Aug. 25 (midnight ET)
  • Where: Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex (Honolulu, Hawaii)
  • How to watch: Spectrum PPV
  • Moneyline: OFF
  • Spread: Delaware State +40 (-110) | Hawaii -40 (-110)
  • Total: 56.5 (-110/-110)

After a surprise five-win year in Timmy Chang's second season as Hawaii's head coach, expectations have increased for one of the toughest situations in the country. Luckily for Chang, they get a cupcake in Week 0 with this Delaware State program coming off a 1-10 year. I don't expect this line to move, but the total could jump up with Rainbow Warriors QB Brayden Schager being one of the best in the G5.
