Ohio and Miami (Ohio) will meet for the second time this season, this time with the MAC Championship on the line.

When these two teams met in mid-October, the RedHawks came away with a 30-20 victory. Our best sports betting sites are expecting a closer result at Ford Field this Saturday, as Ohio vs. Miami (OH) early picks, predictions, and odds show the RedHawks as narrow 2.5-point favorites.

Both of these teams are red-hot entering Saturday’s noon ET (ESPN) matchup. The RedHawks have won seven consecutive games, while the Bobcats have won seven of their last eight, with their only loss during that stretch coming to the RedHawks.

We take a look at the early MAC Championship lines as part of our College Football Championship Week predictions, and I've added another couple of plays in my Ohio vs. Miami (Ohio) prediction.

Because these two teams combined for 50 points in their first meeting, bettors may be shocked to see this number so low. However, the Bobcats scored two touchdowns with less than six minutes remaining to get the score to that number. Additionally, the two teams combined for just 13 points in the first half, before combining for five touchdowns in the second half.

These are two of the best defensive teams in the country, and each ranks in the top 16 in the nation in points allowed per game. The RedHawks are giving up just 17.3 per contest, and the Bobcats are allowing 19.8. While both offenses are averaging over 24 points per game, the RedHawks haven’t allowed more than 21 points since their third game, and the Bobcats have held five straight opponents to 21 or less.

As of now, bettors are split on the total, with half of them backing the Over and the other half backing the Under. I don’t expect this number to move much, but if it does adjust, I expect the public to back the Over because of the first meeting between these two teams. That said, this won’t go higher than 46.

Moneyline

  • Miami (Ohio) best odds: -128 via FanDuel | Implied probability: 56.14%
  • Ohio best odds: +122 via Caesars | Implied probability: 45.05%

The differences between the best and worst prices for each team’s moneyline are pretty significant. For example, FanDuel is offering -128 for the RedHawks while BetMGM and Caesars are both offering -145. And for the Bobcats, Caesars is offering +122 while FanDuel is offering just +106.

Shop around before making a play on this game, as the prices are likely to change often throughout the week. Right now, bettors are pretty split on which team they’re backing, so expect fluctuations that support each team throughout the week.

Spread

  • Miami (Ohio) best odds: -2.5 (-105) via FanDuel
  • Ohio best odds: +2.5 (-105) via BetMGM

The RedHawks opened as just 1.5-point favorites, and already, the spread has grown to 2.5 points. With 65% of bettors backing the RedHawks to win, there’s no reason to expect the line to move back in favor of the Bobcats at this point.

This spread should hit the key number of three at multiple of our best sports betting apps before long, so if you’re on the Bobcats, you can wait a bit. That said, I do think that this spread hitting the key number may bring the Bobcats some support and drop the line back down to 2.5.

Over/Under

  • Over best odds: 44.5 (-110) via BetMGM
  • Under best odds: 44.5 (-110) via BetMGM

The total is the same at all of our best sportsbooks, and the price is -110 for both the Over and the Under everywhere. At the time of writing, bettors are split on which side of this total they support, but as I said earlier, I do think the total will climb throughout the week due to the first game between these two teams totaling 50 points.
