College football desperately needs a star quarterback after six signal-callers were selected in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

While Oregon’s Dillon Gabriel enters the year as the Heisman Trophy odds favorite, Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders could become appointment television this year. He certainly put on a show last year, starting with 510 yards and four touchdowns in Week 1.

What does Sanders have in store for us during this year’s opener against North Dakota State? Our North Dakota State vs. Colorado prediction and favorite Sanders player props help answer that question.

Shedeur Sanders Under 305.5 passing yards ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sanders might have started by throwing for 510 yards last year, but that was necessary in a 45-42 thrilling victory over TCU.

Theoretically, the Buffs - who are double-digit favorites - shouldn’t need to do as much against the Bison. North Dakota State also plays at a slower tempo while leaning on its ground game.

Either way, Sanders will unlikely have the game script to throw for 300-plus yards. The market agrees, as FanDuel opened this line at 335.5 last weekend. I’m betting this Under at 300.5 or better, especially with the market sitting as low as 295.5.

Shedeur Sanders Over 43.5 longest completion ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sanders was one of the best deep-ball passers in the country last year, posting the sixth-best passing grade on throws 20-plus yards down the field per PFF.

Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, who took over play-calling duties during the final four games last year, leaned into Sanders’ deep ball down the stretch. Sanders completed a 45-yard pass in three of his final four games.

ESPN BET is the lone shop that offers a market for the longest completion, but I’m willing to bet it up to 44.5 yards. The payout at -122 odds would return $8.20 in profit on a winning $10 wager.

Shedeur Sanders Over 2.5 passing touchdowns ⭐⭐⭐

While I’m skeptical of Colorado’s chances of piling up too much yardage, I do not doubt that the Buffs want to showcase Sanders. The easy way to do that is to call more passes in the red zone.

Colorado ranked eighth in the country last year with a passing rate of 59.68%. During their 38 red-zone attempts a season ago, the Buffaloes threw 17 touchdowns and recorded 11 rushing scores.

FanDuel is as high as -140 for Over 2.5 passing touchdowns for Sanders, so this -135 value at DraftKings is a bit of a discount.
